Virus?

Something really screwed me up lastnight.

My mouse went haywire and then I couldn't reboot into windows. This morning I had to use the PS/2 connection just to get into the BIOS.

Everything was disabled. USB, IDE, PCI-E, LAN, Core 2...everything.

I'm guessing it was a virus.

I dunno. Most viruses today are more software oriented, in that they try to steal passwords, account numbers, or just screw up windows in general. If I am understanding correctly, those things were disabled in the bios. To disable every thing on the BIOS level from windows, such as accidentally getting a virus that was attached to donkey porn, I am not sure is even possible.

Based upon the amount of info you gave, it sounds to me to be a querky mother board issue. I have also seen power supply problems create some funky shit too, though that is kind of a long shot. Personally, and this is just my opinion and other computer nerds could call me a retard, I would verify the bios version to be the latest and flash it. If it happens again and i had an extra power supply, i'd run it on the different power supply for awhile. If it keeps happening, your board could have gone republican on you.

Just my $0.02
