| How I Love New Jersey Being a New Yorker I've always loved our little brother to south of us, the garbage, the smell, the turnpike and all that stuff - but wait, here are some quotes of what others who are more articulate them me, lets read what they have to say about this beautiful State: First from the great Benjamin Franklin, "New Jersey is like a beer barrel, tapped at both ends, with all the live beer running into Philadelphia and New York" Woody Allan, "The curtain rises on a vast primitive wasteland, not unlike certain parts of New jersey.” Here are others: "Why are New Yorkers so depressed? Because the light at the end of the tunnel is New Jersey!" "This is a state where people go to a landfill next to a turnpike that's on fire on alternate weekends to cheer a team from New York." "Scientists at the New Jersey Insurance News Service have determined that one-half of the state's drivers have road rage. It is not known whether this condition is caused by a defective gene, or by New Jersey."

| There's another Futurama thing from the third episode, I,Roommate where they are looking for apartments and they look at every trashhole in New York. Then they come across one apartment that looks really nice and Fry says "Ok, I give up. What's the catch?" The salesman says "No catch, though we are *technically* in New Jersey." Scene changes to them back at their work sitting around and Fry says "Not one livable apartment." New Jersey bashing is funny and I've never even been there. But for those of you from Jersey, your state song:

| Being from NJ you hear the best... The worst things are the true things. There's a million jokes about having to pay to leave Jersey, but not to get in. Every toll in NJ you pay on the exiting side, not the entrance side. It's kinda strange. Free to come in, but once you're here and want to get out you gotta pay the toll. | ||||

| Our corporate headquarters used to be in Iselin, NJ. So my only exposure to it was the drive from Newark Airport to there which has the be the ugliest scenery I have ever seen. I couldn't understand why anyone lived there. I remember when I was taking my first real "corporate" trip. I was 20. My boss was this 65 year old ex Navy guy with a gutter mouth and a great sense of humor. I was kind of nervous going there and asked him what it was like. It was the first time I ever heard anyone use the classic phrase "If the world ever needed an enema, God would stick the tube in NJ." I have since seen nicer parts. | ||||

There are a lot of jokes about how bad our beaches are. Which beach did you go to?

So they first moved our tech support and training facilities to Cary and then the rest of our headquarters followed.Needless to say, now that it's in NC it's much easier to get quality people to agree to move there without giving them CEO salaries.

But yea, the Turnpike you pay by the exit you get on and the exit you get off. The Parkway has toll booth stations throughout. And quite a few other roads have random tolls as well, especially near the beaches and AC.

| My biggest pet peeve about Jersey, besides the tolls every 4 feet and the smell in Northern Jersey is that I can't make a simple fucking U-turn on their streets, I have to make a right and use their roundabouts and wait on their lights to make a left, making a 2 second thing turn into 5 mins | ||||

| They're called jughandles in NJ! And a simple 2 second thing would hold up traffic! There's no such thing as a simple 2 second left hand turn on a NJ highway! Get your ass out of the way and wait your turn instead of holding up traffic. | ||||
