China is not a problem because we have enormous amounts of trade with them. It would be chopping off the hand that feeds them economically.

I don't think this can be emphasized enough, especially to those who seem to think if Iran goes nuclear the world will come to an end. Iran has everything to lose if it uses the technology against another country, and much like North Korea, it is being used by the political leaders as a bargaining chip.

These Chicken Littles in our government are a serious threat to any future stability in the Middle East region.

It shouldn't be up to another country to decide whether we stay. We don't belong there. We have hundreds of military installations and bases in hundreds of countries...there's no legit reason for any of them.

Mutually assured destruction only works with people who don't want to be destroyed. While I don't think Iranians are nationally suicidal per se, Islamic fundamentalists have enough of a martyr fetish to weaken one's faith in the mutually assured destruction theory.
