He sure did. He said our future armies need to be trained for nation building. I had to hit rewind on the DVR because i could not believe he said that.

I was watching the debate and playing Xbox and I was so "WTF did he just say that" that I lost focus of my game, rewound the tv to hear it again, and got my dude killed in the process

Being pro-choice and openly supporting nation building... I see no chance he wins a Republican nomination.

Thank god. I would have confidence in the country again if the final election was Joe Biden vs. Ron Paul.

I don't know a ton about Biden, but what I do know he seems like less of a politician and more of a statesman than any other Democrat in the race, so I'd have to agree.

Biden voted for the war funding bill, and therefore I could not vote for him.

All that I can say in regards to that, is that he explained why he did end up voting yes in the last debate.

From the way it sounds he kind of has the some conflict I do, in that I don't think we should cut off funding but we need a significant change in strategy. What we are doing is not working, and a even barely stable Iraq is better than just straight up leaving. By not giving the president funds it would force a withdrawl that i would consider irresponsible.

That is why he will not get my support as well.

That would not stop me from supporting someone who takes him as a running mate though.

I respect that point of view from both of you. I would just encourage you to hold out and see how the whole thing plays out before disqualifying someone entirely this early.

Afterall, Biden was truly the first person to offer an significant alternative plan to Iraq and has stuck with that plan since he has announced it. I think that should count for something. I also believe his plan offers both the best chances for leaving an Iraq with at least a small amount of stability, while at the same time bringing our soldiers home as soon as possible and ending this financial black hole.
