| Is Ron Paul Signing Up Republican voters? From a letter in a local paper: "Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, is fighting for America's freedom. I will register Republican (which I never thought I would do) and vote for Paul for president. He believes in limited government, represents the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and will bring our country back on course as our forefathers intended in the creation of these two historic documents. This man will not be bought off. He's not afraid to stand up for America and our people." Now consider the number of Republican defectors going back to Pat Buchanan and making big waves under Ross Perot in the 90's. People who think Republicans have given up on limited government and plot to many Foreign adventures. Are they coming back? Will they try to change the party when they do?

| I'm registering for the party to vote for Paul, but there's very little chance of me voting for anyone but him this election. If Paul doesn't make it to the ballot I'll vote for whoever the Libertarian Party throws up. | ||||

| It'll be interesting to see how he does in the actual primaries.. He has a ton of internet buzz right now but I'm not sure whether or not his campaign is using that (Like Dean's camp did) in an effort to translate that online energy into feet on the ground in various states.. How many people here who seem to love him have donated to his campaign? Bought a bumper sticker? Offered to campaign for him locally? My guess is not that many. | ||||

| He really needs it in the primary states so he can get his nomination. The sack riding on the internet needs to sway people in those states. It does no good to have Lew and Publius excited, unless they move to a primary state to help him win. | ||||

| You'd think with all the supposedly educated and successful libertarians, Ron Paul would be swimming in campaign donations The easiest thing you can do is make a quick donation to a campaign...there's no excuse except successful people really don't buy into libertarianism | ||||

Over at theres at least 2 non-LLers asking for leafleting/campaigning advice for their own 'self-starter' efforts.FWIW on UK TV he variously gets a mentioned as the 'minor player' who gave Guiliani a typical chance to promote his own role in 9/11 or as the leading '2nd tier' candidate & is paraded as somewhat of an oddity appealing to those disaffected with the mainstream. There is, IMO, an element of 'those crazy yanks' in some of this coverage Last edited by avsp; 06-07-2007 at 09:17 AM. | ||||

| I don't see that at all. The Religious Right will NOT vote for Giuliani. And a lot of independents hate Giuliani. I see Paul's chances at the nomination better than Giuliani. Despite what the media says, I think the race will truly be between Paul, Huckabee, and Romney. | ||||
