There are plenty of good kids who do not drink at 16. They shouldn't be punished because other teenagers do.
If you don't want to supervise your teen at a party, you have a choice to have them not go if you feel there will be things at the party you don't want your child succumbed to.

OR

You can educate your child that even if there is alcohol, they are not allowed to drink it, and you can let them go by themselves on their word.

OR

You can tell them if they drink they stay the night there.

The number of years is an arbitrary number which doesn't mean anything when someone should or shouldn't drink. If you have an immature teen who you don't trust to make the right decisions, then I think it's the parents responsibility to keep them from drinking, it's not everyone else's responsibility to watch their cup for you.

Ah yea, dallas area native, I forgot. It must be meth or coke. Its cool either way, I am fairly libertarian in that regard.

Could someone queue up the "shocker" picture as visual evidence to support my suspicion please?

If I don't want to supervise my teen at a party? Like ANY teenager would ever let that happen.

I do expect the parents throwing the party (ESPECIALLY if they are going to be there) to not provide my child with alcohol. That should be a given period.

I wouldn't be touting parental responsibility if I didn't agree with your last paragraph
