| Ron Paul Excluded From Iowa Presidential Forum - Audio of both sides Kent Snyder, Ron Paul's campaign manager, was interviewed by a radio DJ regarding his not being invited to a debate put on by Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance. Ed Failer, an officer for Iowan's for Tax Relief, was the one who said Dr. Paul wasn't invited. There were organizations involved in the event that were shocked that he wasn't invited. The DJ said the folks here in Iowa need an explanation. Then Ed Failer was put on the show to give an explanation. Failer, who sounds like he is in his 20's or low 30's, basically said "we are going to invite who we wanted to invite" "the most credible candidates for president" The DJ said his explanation was "lame." The DJ mentioned that this topic was getting some national attention and mentioned "Lew Rockwell's" piece on it. The DJ then said to Failer, "I would imagine that if your organization is a tax relief one, that one of the first people you would want to invite would be Ron Paul because of his record in voting against taxes." To which Failer replied, "because we are a 501c3 organization, we can't be biased" and he actually said "he hadn't considered it until you asked it" Failer went on to complain about the phone calls he's been receiving and that they are not from Iowan's, but out of state. (Ron Paul's website said to call his office, not his home# which they did NOT give out - and Failer did complain about hackers trying to shut down his website, hehe). Failer said he would allow other candidates to come in that were invited, including Guiliani, McCain etc. but said that they have already made the plans and don't have room for Ron Paul. Snyder accused him of talking in circles, and said "you invite Tommy Tancredo who hadn't even declared yet?" Bottom line is that Failer was made out to be a fool by the DJ for standing firm with his no invitation to Ron Paul. You can listen to it here (skip to 2/3 mark - it's an audio recording): http://media.libsyn.com/media/mickelson/mickelson-2007-06-20.mp3 More on the issue: http://www.lewrockwell.com/woods/woods72.html We'll see what shakes. Iowan's need to step up and be heard!

| UPDATED Speaking Order: 1:30pm Honorable Tommy Thompson 2:05pm Governor Mike Huckabee 2:40pm Senator Sam Brownback 3:15pm Governor Mitt Romney 3:50pm Congressman Tom Tancredo 4:25pm Congressman Duncan Hunter I was kind of speaking tongue in cheek about the "viability" thing...as I personally think NONE of the Republicans are viable. Looking at the list, who really cares if Paul goes or not? Why do people who support Ron Paul whine and cry about anything and everything that happens? It's like a major travesty he wasn't invited to compete in the Special Olympics of Debating? This event is a joke. | ||||

| He was invited and chose not to go. Paul was never invited and would like to go.

It's because the power money elitists don't want a man like Ron Paul in the Whitehouse as he would put an end to the priviledged corporatist relationshiops whether it be nation building, the health care debacle or the banking cartel game as well as socialist agendas like the environment and the welfare state. Which "socialist" are you voting for? Why? You won't answer because all you can do is throw darts at Paul (but I do agree with you on the other Republican candidates). Only Ron Paul stands in the way of tyranny from the left and the right. | ||||

| Wow. I'm all for bitching and moaning when your candidate gets the shaft. But these people need to understand that RP doesn't have some unalienable right to be there. The people holding the debate have the right to invite who they wish. Threatening his family for exercising his rights in a way you don't like seems kind of anti-libertarian philosophy to me. If the RP crowd wants to be taken seriously, they need to start taking themselves seriously and not acting like a bunch of teenage brats.

| Fed Up most post an embarrasing moment he or she had for all of us to laugh at. Its part of the new rules i created here: now that I am the vice president.. 2. Every user that starts a ron paul thread, they need to reveal a secret about themselves in the thread that everyone will laugh at. Example: I peed the bed last night because in my dream I was at a toilet. (no, this didn't happen to me) | ||||
