elementary my dear watson.
If I were a Satanist, I'd be immensely offended and consider it swearing at me to say "God Bless You" to me.

And as I've already posted in this thread:

you can go on as long as you want, but you are still going to be wrong, because you do not understand what slander is

When did I ever say "if you go up to a teacher/administrator at the mall and say fuck you you stupid whore" ?? I said if you go up to them and tell them "fuck off" or "go fuck yourself"

Neither is a slanderous statement, now you're just trying to put words in my mouth in order to bolster your argument.

i didn't say you said it. i said it. i'm saying if you say that to a teacher, being a student, you can STILL get in trouble for it. it's malicious and vulgar.

if you weren't a student, i'm sure the teacher, if he/she choose, could still bring some sort of charges against you. dont' know if they'd hold, but they could. slanderous statements include malicious intent. telling someone to fuck off is malicious. dont' know if it would hold water in court, but it is.

saying that "fuck off" is slander is like saying that punching someone is rape, because they both involve malicious intent

That doesn't make it slanderous, which is where your argument seemed to have been hinged.

I love this.

Most Satanists view themselves as gods. They don't view themselves as literal deities, but they view themselves as the sole contributor to their actions, and there are no other forces that incite any direct causality for their actions. They call themselves gods. They are atheists though, and they view worship as being rather pathetic. Oh, and CoS has some LaVeyan teachings regarding the human ego. It's pretty common for Satanists to be incredibly self-absorbed, and this is a virtuous attribute to them. So in most cases, they wouldn't consider it swearing, but they might be more likely to find it laughable and silly.

That was a tangent, I know, but I figured I'd point it out anyway in case you were interested.

the definition of slander includes malicious intent. that would make it slander, definition-wise.

The linguistic definition of "person" doesn't include "large conglomerate overseen by a board of directors whose job is to please their shareholders," but yet, the law considers corporations to be "Persons."

Case in point: Legal terms have legal definitions.

So what's the legal definition of slander? Well, I have a copy of Black's Law Dictionary, 2nd Edition right here...

Slander: In torts: Oral defamation; the speaking of false and malicious words concerning another, whereby injury results to his reputation.

Slanderer: One who maliciously and without reason imputes a crime or fault to another of which he is innocent.
