3rd democratic debate

Did anyone else see the democrat debate last night? I am not really sure what to think of it. It was pretty much dominated by healthcare, poverty, education, and ways to address the alledged racism that still exists today. With that it was basically 'who is going to be the best at welfare' debate and they used race (primarily influenced by their audience at Howard University) as an excuse as to why there is (as John Edwards kept saying) two americas. Hillary probably did the best job and recieved the most applause, especially after her comment "If AIDS was primarily affecting white women age 25-39 there would be something done about it!"

I just had a feeling that the whole crowd there was the give me pay for slavery that was 150 years ago type.

When push comes to shove it is not as much of a black thing as a poor thing. Rich and middle class people do not go to jail as frequently as poor people. Rich and middle class people are more likely to get educated. Rich and middle class are more likely to have decent health care. Poor white people, latino, black, whatever all face the same problems. To make it a black thing like the university and candidates did kind of bothered me.

I think there is a serious problem with the black community if they feel this way and they should recognize it is a poor people issue, not a black people issue.

She is correct? Ok, she says if it was whites "Something would be done about it." Tell me what hasn't been done about it that could possibly have been done if it was white women (I don't even know what she fucking means by that).

I am ok with AIDS projects in Africa as long as everyone else is on board with us. Our country should not take the hit on all this crap. When we act we are imperialist and when we don't we are heartless rich people. The only solution is to get people to act with us. If nobody else wants to do it, fuck them.

There were so many racial low blows last night...about how black america has it rough and all this crap. Its poor america that has limited educational opportunity, limited health coverage, limited job opportunity. Edwards is some what correct on two americas, but it is not black america and white america.. its poor america and everyone else. There are a number of acceptions, but if you are born poor, chances are you will be poor most of your life due to limited opportunity.

No but the crazy alaska guy kept going back to the war on drugs, like all the black people in jail were crack addicts. One question was like "40% of the people arrested are black, yet 70% of the people in jail are black...what does that number tell you?" And hes like THE WAR ON DRUGS HAS TO END! RARKLAKRLKARKAR
