Think about it this way, what do you have to prove you are a citizen? A driver's license - no good, noncitizens can get driver's licenses in every state. A social security card? No good, not an ID Passport - I doubt you carry your passport daily BTW, there are quite a few ways to be legally present in this country without citizenship. Many of these do not include a piece of paper that says "I'm here legally!"

| I don't care how they prove it. Let's face it, the government keeps track of ALL OF US. We are all in the system. If they wanted to look it up, they could see where I lived as a kid, when my shots were, and who I made out with in the baseball dugouts in High School. I don't buy that they just can't VERIFY if someone is a citizen. They just don't want to, and don't want to put the resources into making it so the border patrol can find this crap out. | ||||

| No papers, no care IMO I see no reason to waste time, money, and resources on sending people back by allowing them a hearing.. if they say "I can prove I'm a citizen" to someone in the detention facility, then sure, give them a chance. If not, hasta la vista, baby. | ||||

Detention facilities could be designed to be temporary, and actions agasint illegals could be helpd of untill procesing the last lot is completed. There are other serious issues to be looked at in this situation other than "getting rid of illegals", however the current loophole sneed to be closed before valid paths can be opened
