Gore's son, speeding and drugs

I just read a story about Al Gore's son being arrested for speeding and drugs. I have no ide how to put a link here to the story but it's out there. Gotta feel bad for parent's when something like this happens.

P.S. Thanks in advance to anyone who posts a link, the story I read was Rueters (sp?)

Neither of which should be legislated, so it's not that big of a deal in my opinion. But that does suck for the kid. Sounds like he needs to get his shit together. But with an overzealous father like Gore, I could understand why his kids might be going astray.

overzealous father? I dunno, he might be incredibly passionate about some stuff but I don't think we know much about what kind of father he is?

I didn't mean overzealous in terms of parenting. I meant overzealous in the sense that he has been overzealous (radically passionate) about things.

I think it might have come out the wrong way. But there's clarification on how I meant that.

Some of you have some fucked up ideas about what SHOULD be law. BTW, at least Gore was driving a Hybrid. I can just imagine the Republican response if it was a Hummer.

It's probably the only thing daddy would buy for him. I wonder what kind of mileage a Prius gets doing 100mph?

I do see a problem with that, and I think people should avoid doing it.

That's one of the things that bugs me, it's like there's something wrong with putting preventative measures in place to discourage irresponsible behavior.

Driving 80+mph near a park is asking for something to happen, and while sure the person would be punished (civil, criminal) if something happened, it doesn't bring back someones kid, or someones ability to walk.

I am not even sure why cars are made to go that fast to begin with. I mean, my IPOD has a limit as to how far I can turn up the volume.

As far as I know, there has not been any instances where anarchistic traffic has failed.

I had no idea a prius could even get that fast. He had to have been going down hill or something.

That would be my defense in court.

"Not guilty"
<how are you going to prove you were not going 100mph>
"I drive a hybrid prius"
<oh, wtf>

i got off my second to last ticket saying i didn't realize how fast i was going because my car was still new and i was used to driving old shitboxes that rattled at high speeds.

it was partially true, but definitely worked.

No I don't!

I think the priorities of both parents in this case are clear. Let us not forget it was Mrs. Gore who once wanted to control music for young people before they became cool. I don't need an ounce of sympathy for either of them although I won't blame the kid for the actions of the parents!
