Upon further reflection, I support the actions of the hecklers. I wish that every time the Senate had a prayer of any faith, someone from an opposing faith would shout that prayer down. That way, maybe, the Senate would get the point that a secular government building is not the place to entertain ceremonies of religion that have absolutely nothing to do with the business of the Senate.

Why can't people just practice their religion on their own time? Why do they always insist on trying to use the government as a platform to promote it? As if the Senate weren't contentious enough just dealing with politics, we have to inject a battle of invisible men as well?

And every country that does allow it is mostly Christian. I see no predominantly Muslim, Jewish, Hindu or Buddhist countries listed.
Ok, there is only one Hindu country basically, and only one Jewish country, and Muslims just use Christian Bible descriptions of homosexuality, and there are no countries I'd really consider "Buddhist"

So I have no idea what point you're making except that Muslims don't do it, but I think we've established that the Muslim faith is a lot younger than say...every other major world religion

They have a right to say what they did. The chose a venue that they could be arrested to say it, and that's what they were arrested for. So, it's not the same as them being arrested for what they said. They were arrested for saying something and disrupting the Senate. I don't think the Senate is the place to spout off like that.

But, they can say it all they want, and I will be one of the people to keep telling them they are wrong.

You got it!

It was the place and not the speech. The constitution says nothing about providing a public platform for free speech. Only that the government cannot prohibit.

To me, that is the key to that Amendment. You can say it. Just not in unreasonable places.

Good Lord, don't we have some kind of Town Square, or National Monument people can just go to and air all of their beefs and hatred? I believe England's got one....And I don't see English People acting this way.

that is pretty lame of you to use the rep points to disagree with someone's point of view. Do you disagree with the fact that far left wing factions use extreme protests to to show their point of view

I don't think the puritans were that wide spead. In their areas they were very intolorant and burned women. If you had said protestants who have a lot of puritan in them I would agree they had a lot of influence good and bad.

Anytime there's ANY "liberal" interruption of ANYTHING they are immediately scorned and called "liberal hippie scum." I hope the same people are saying "Conservative asslickers."

that was my point, and I got negative feedback for it

this type of activity is normally associated with far left groups, but this time it was far right people that were far out of line and I am glad they were by the capitol police
