Clinton/Edwards, overheard talking about limited debates in the fall

ABC News

Before anyone goes 'OMG!'

I agree...come Winter of 07...I do not want to hear Dennis/Gravel/Dodd/Biden if they are in the 1-3% category...

I mean cmon, if it's Hillary 30%, Obama 25%, Edwards 20% Richardson 15%....do we really need to hear someone who is registering at 0% in NH moments before NH's voters vote?

These debates are so quick...I get to hear like 5 minutes of Obama from watching a 2 hour debate, how freaking ridiculous is that?

I want a 2 hour debate and I want to hear the top 4 candidates all get 30 minutes, then I can REALLY decide who is not only "electable" but who I believe in...right now I have to rely on internet press releases

I disagree. I think all respectable candidates should be given the opportunity to speak. Elections are still a while away for them to be trying to kick people out.

I also think it had a lot to do with the politics of the little guys. They have to attack the big guys to make headway. In essence they're hurting the big three/four in an attempt to help themselves. And Clinton/Edwards are doing this not for the interest of American and sparking true debate, but to kick anyone off the podium who may disagree with them and make them look bad.

I think that's a bad policy.

I would hope the Republicans keep Paul and the smaller guys as well for the same reasons. We need people to spark healthy debate during the primaries and to keep the top candidates in check.

They're talking about the winter, when there'd have already been about 10 debates

I'm sorry, after 10 debates, and about of campaining in IA/NH/whatever, and you can not get above 2%, you are screwing over people like me who are trying to decide who to support in the primaries

If Ron Paul is at 1% come Dec 2008, after all this buzz, I do not think he should be at the GOP debates

Think back to 2004...wasn't it such a joke that when it was between Kerry and Edwards, Dems had to listen to Kerry, Edwards, KUCCINICH AND SHARPTON! A 2 man debate was a 4 man debate, and it was ridiculous, Kerry and Edwards were trying to differentiate themselves but instead of having 90 minutes to do that, they had like 20 to do it, 45 minutes of sharpton/dennis blathering, and 25 minutes+ responding to ridiculous statements made by dennis

People like you spend hours each day researching possible candidates and you would make a better informed decision if there were minority candidates bringing up new issues and questioning the popular three on their stances.

Yes but I want to know how they're going to do in debates, not a .html document on their stances that a staffer wrote and they approved

the media can become better at asking questions, i dont need to hear biden rant for 10 minutes about how he wants to split up Iraq for the 99999th time...he even got a full hour on meet the press

you completely disagree that 10 debates and 10 months of campaining isn't enough to get above 1-2%?
