The law is designed for people storing guns while they are not at home, it does not prohibit you from keeping your gun under your pillow at night

quite reasonable in my opinion...decry it all you want, as long as you accept the basic _fact_ that there has to be a line drawn somewhere in gun regulation...it's certainly the states that have a constitutional authority to draw that line individually for that state

So it's constituional, reasonable, and popular...otherwise known as Good Law

Then you get stupid CA laws like this one "when traveling too and from home and shooting areas, the gun must be in a locked trunk or a hard locked case." Wait a minute. everyone that owns a pickup, suv, wagon, hatch, etc..... is now a criminal unless they get a lockable case for every single weapon they own. And a trigger lock is NOT enough. Has to be a case.

Then you get the magicical loaded weapon laws. If a clip/mag is loaded AND it is anywhere near the firearm, that firearm is considered a loaded weapon and you are now in serious trouble with the law. Sorry but if I am going to the range with pistols, I am just throwing everything in a bag.

Seriously. How many people have flipped out while driving to/from the range, gun store, etc...
That is also a law here in MA.

I completely agree with you.

How so? It only governs how your weapons must be stored while you're not there.

Sounds like you're suggesting that a person has no responsibility to make sure they're following the law though. Seems to be a complete 180 from normal libertarian thought on such matters.

Who knew it was so flexible?
it is preposterous to assume someone can know all the law, whether it applies to gun laws, traffic laws, and or tax laws

it is preposterous for Thorgrim to apply this standard to ballz when he can't apply it to himself

You walk over to the safe...get them out...and load them...after returning from a vacation?

If you are seriously worried that there will be an attacker inside your house when you return from a vacation, armed with a sack of pennies waiting to ambush you, I suggest you get a reverse peephole

It isn't preposterous to know that you should secure your guns...law or not.

Funny you mention that; the thiefs tried to make off with my sack of pennies too...but it was too heavy and they left it outside the window of my house

Well that's a highly presumptuous statement. Why should I lock up my guns if it's not law?

Funny that

Anyway, there is still some mystery surrounding whether you had purchased/traded/etc a gun or moved one from state to another state in the period from 1998-2007

And whether or not you familiarized yourself with MA gun law in roughly a decade

That's a logical fallacy

Not all safe breakers are able to enter every house, and even if they were

Not every person who could break into a house could break a safe

Myself I've broken into my own house (when i lived there years ago) when I've forgotten the key, I assure you I could never open my brother's safe

yet, every gun must be secure because someone could steal it

oh, ok

Hi, I apply the "logical fallacy" to others arguments, but not my own

You responded to the wrong post, I was pointing out a specific logical fallacy that is crystal clear...unless you are refuting my debunking of said fallacy, there is nothing for you to respond to in my post
