That was interesting... I hadn't seen that. I thought she wrote the epilogue so that she would never have to write about Harry ever again. And so that when she dies, someone couldn't conceive their own ending for the series....

his son is like 80 now! anyway, so i don't know if she would have the energy to go back and wrote more since she said she was done.

| SLYTHERIN PLOT? French teen arrested for translating latest Harry Potter By Angela Charlton The Associated Press PARIS - Was it wizardry that guided him? Or too much free time? Whatever it was, a French 16-year-old accomplished a mystifying feat in translating all 759 pages of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows within days of its July 21 release and posting it online. The problem: It was illegal, and now the teen has spent a night in jail and faces charges of intellectual property violation. Author J.K. Rowling's lawyers say networks of other illegal Potter translators span the world, seeking to profit from the boy wizard's global appeal, and growing more sophisticated with every new tome. The French teen translator, a high school student from Aix-en-Provence in southern France, likely had less sinister intentions. "He just wanted to get the book online, and did not appear to be seeking profit," Aix Prosecutor Olivier Rothe said Wednesday. The teenager, whose name was not released, was picked up Monday following a complaint from police in Paris and was released Tuesday after questioning, Rothe said. He said the boy could face charges for violating intellectual property rights. The French agency for fighting counterfeiting alerted Rowling and Gallimard Jeunesse, the publishing house that is releasing the official French version on Oct. 26, of the unauthorized version, Gallimard said Wednesday. The publishing house said it offered its support to the agency's investigation. Gallimard spokeswoman Marie Leroy-Lena said official Harry Potter translator Jean-Francois Menard is still working on Deathly Hallows, since he only received the official English version when it was released July 21. "To wait three months to have a French version, that is too much!" said Ketty Do, a 17-year-old, flipping through the English version at a bookstore on the Champs-Elysees. Do called the teen translator "a courageous person," but added, laughing: "Still, I will wait for the official version, since this kid is only 16." But 12-year-old Robin Gallaud, looking at video games in the store, said "If I find the French version on the Net, I will read it." | ||||

| the 6th film is either going to be just as awesome as the 3rd film (the best of the series so far) or its going to really suck And the 7th film could really be 2 movies...every part is so excellent I don't know how they can leave anything out...i bet they're gonna really fuckup what could be a film to rival (not beat) RotK **Spoilers The scene with House of Gaunt should be awesome, the whole atmosphere that was set there is really what the whole series should have been like if it was adult literature but master of the obvious HP might have sucked if they tried to be so mature from the start The whole starting with the Dursleys...ah well there's a thousand complaints...the biggest I have is Lupin, wtf was that, she said in the interview it was to save Mr Weasley who was old and already raised a family...fuck that...pissed me off...but the fact that she changed it the last second to accomodate another part makes me think its not central to the story therefor in my version its mr weasley lying there not lupin | ||||

| I finally finished the book. It was great. I was only reading a bit each night and finally had 3-4 hours Sunday to finish it. It's funny. It seemed like it was taking forever to get to the end, then all the sudden I was at the end and didn't want to be there ![]() Great book. Great series. | ||||

| I just finished it a couple days ago, and I have to say it's probably the best of the series, and one of the most satisfying endings I've ever read in a book. | ||||

| I also love the way she wrapped up Snape. Excellent. And I don't know if I've ever read a book with so much action. A WHOLE LOT happens. | ||||

| If you get the book PDF off the internets...there is about a 20 paragraph part of the book which "wraps up" snape and explains a ton in a relatively quick part...you can skip to that | ||||

| So you didn't appreciate the parallel it made between Teddy and Harry, and in turn Harry to Sirius? I actually thought it added quite a bit to the story. I agree that she didn't HAVE to do anything, but I also agree with her statement that you can't just write wonderful, happy endings. Realism (heh) demands that not everything works out wonderfully. | ||||

| **spoilders Realism in a children's fiction novel? Anyway, realism would have been like other characters, things happen, but Tonks-Lupin are the ONLY order members to have died that night, and through minor dark wizards? Tonks was a full fledged Auror with constant practice with the OotP, Lupin was around for the first Order and was always regarded as specially gifted in Magic... I can maybe...maybe see in a one an one duel, B Lestrange beating out Tonks (funny she loses to Mrs. Weasley?) But Dolohov beating Remus Lupin? Remembers how many times Dolohov was bested by teenagers...and he was never remarked for this powers... If they were going to have Lupin lose, it should have been some noble sacrifice like Lupin getting double teamed by two death eaters and add in B Lestrange, and then Tonks came to help but it was too late and then they turned on her...thats convincing...but a 1 on 1? It really makes him out to be a very weak wizard And again, the Teddy thing was an afterthought, and it shows, there is no indication that if Tonks-Lupin had not been there, the battle would have been that different...While Lily's death was neccesary for Harry's whole story...also Harry grew up as very famous who had mysterious powers, and away from the wizarding world, Teddy is the opposite Also, there is nothing special about Teddy pretty much whatsoever, except his parents were probably famous after the facts Tonks-Lupin developed a marriage that showed some very adult themes in older-younger, and wanting to run away, but facing your fears and raising your child...oh yeah then they die...like wtf it was a great theme but it's kind of destroyed when the child is parentless anyway That's just off the top of my head, there's more stuff I'm sure, because JK put it together very quickly...just stupid... | ||||
