| Rasmussen: Pelosi at 40% approval; CBS: Dems favored over GOP by double digits House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is viewed favorably by 40% and unfavorably by 47%. Her numbers include 11% with a Very Favorable opinion and 26% with a Very Unfavorable view. Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election. If the 2008 election for President were being held today, would you probably vote for the Republican candidate or would you probably vote for the Democratic candidate? Democratic: 47% Republican: 32% In general, is your opinion of the Republican party favorable or not favorable? Favorable: 38% Unfavorable: 56% In general, is your opinion of the Democratic party favorable or not favorable? Favorable: 52% Unfavorable: 41% http://graphics.nytimes.com/packages...ll_results.pdf So, to dispel the myth that voters dislike the Democrats and their leadership in Congress, here we see voters giving high marks to Pelosi and the Democratic Party...Reid gets lower numbers...why? He's more moderate than Pelosi, comes from a red state, etc He hasn't gotten anything on Iraq passed thanks to the GOP filibusters, while Pelosi has gotten withdrawal bills passed through the House...if Democrats were not obstructed, and people saw more all-nighters like they just did...Democrats approval ratings would sky-rockets because voters are only giving low marks to what they see as Congress, the Senate specifically, doing NOTHING about Iraq when they want to start bringing troops home, have described the surge as a failure, etc etc | ||||

| I think the biggest reason for this is nothing other than she's been getting good media lately. The public hates what Congress has been doing, yet she's been leading most of the crap they've been doing. | ||||

| They disapprove of the JOB Congress is doing...and what job are they doing? Filibusters Who is doing that, democrats or republicans? Democrat's do not control the Senate, in fact because of Johnson being out sick and Lieberman being an independent who strategizes with the GOP, the Democrats only have 49 votes | ||||
