They don't understand that is the act of helping that is the most rewarding. It usually doesn't involve trying to "trick" people into believing in Christ. They do the best they can, help as many people as they can, and let their ACTIONS be the word of Christ. These people go to places where people need help. They help people that might have never met a Christian before and those people then find that Christians aren't bad people at all. They are actually nice, and genuine. Of course most of them love their religion as much as the Christians do and will never convert, but they go away with a good view of Christianity. That is what most of these people would want and what is good for the world in general.

| Bear Grylls should do a Man vs Wild in afghanistan. That way the christians can watch survival techniques in relation to the afghan mountains, the wild life, and the taliban. "ooh look there.. look there.. most dangerous animal in this country.. i want to stay clear of that species of taliban.. they are probably high in protien.. but they run in monkeysphere's of 20 or more and can randomly attack." | ||||

| It has nothing to do with being "anti-Christian or anti-religion" but it has a lot to do with having common fucking sense. If you are a Korean Christian the safest place to be probably isn't one of the most militant Muslim countries on earth which is still filled with people who believe you are sinning if you don't grow a long beard and wear a fucking turban (and veil). I mean, come the fuck on. Traveling to Afghanistan with a "Christian aide organization" while we are still fighting a war there against resurgent militant "Islamo-fascists" (to steal Bush's term) ..... brilliant fucking idea. You've just jumped in a shark tank and nobody should be shocked when they bite. | ||||

| Nobody is shocked or surprised that they are being treated this way (by the Taliban). Half the people here are 'shocked and surprised' that these people would go to a poor country to help! | ||||

| I don't think they're at all surprised that they'd go somewhere like this, but let's be realistic, it's not a secret that many of these organizations go there to proselytize under the guise of aid work. It just so happens that this is a place where people take their religion more seriously than almost anywhere else on Earth, and don't take kindly to people telling them their religion is false and the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. The concept that "Christianity would do them some good" is just laughable in it's arrogance and lack of respect for other cultures and religion. | ||||

I wonder how many secular humanitarian agencies have lost people in Iraq and Afghanistan, if we are going to turn this into a stupid christian v. atheist discussion.

| I hope they get out safe either way, whether or not they were preaching doesn't excuse the actions of the Taliban.. However, if they were preaching, it was extremely disrespectful to the sensibilities of those living in the area.. but it's certainly not just cause to kill someone. | ||||
