Public trusts Democrats more than Republicans on every major issue

Code:

Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election.

Not surprising to me at all, considering:
  1. It was the Democrats who had to start trying to implement the rest of the 9/11 security commissions' suggestions
  2. Most of the world feels it's perfectly acceptable to tax the rich
  3. No child left behind leaves plenty of children behind
  4. Most people think abortion should be legal
  5. They dislike what they see as racist policies in the GOP immigration plan
  6. Much of the country isn't feeling the benefits of a robust stock market
  7. The war in Iraq continues to be a huge disaster, and Republican calls to continue that disaster are increasingly unpopular
  8. The country hated the GOP plan to privatize social security
  9. The continuing stream of corruption charges against Republicans, hell, a new one yesterday!
  10. Much of the country would like universal coverage and thinks the Republicans are in the pockets of the insurance industry

It does not bode well for the Republican party that Democrats are doing so well on every major issue.. all they have left is fear mongering, and people are tired of that.

They want hope, and the Republicans aren't bringing it to them. They're busy saying, NO! BE SCURRED! ..while uplifting messages of generic change are being fed to them by Obama, and Edwards, etc.

I agree with all of that except the quoted. I personally do not consider a tougher immigration and border security policy racist or racially motivated. I like mexican people, culture, food, and women (the thin ones). I just want them to come in here in a regulated semi-limited fashion, legally, and documented.

That being said the GOP has really bent themselves over on just about every issue they can. What is really sad is that there are not more reputable democrats and independents who can take them from their seats. Everyone seems dissatisfied but then they keep voting for the incumbents in many states.

Can you blame them? Republican stonewalling is preventing a lot from being accomplished

It makes it hard for them to be successful in much I would assume...and therefore, makes it hard for people to have a real trust when they don't really prove and earn that trust, doesn't it?

Perhaps if the Republicans weren't such jihadists, then the Democrats could have an opportunity to actually earn the trust of the public?

I don't see the policy as racist either, but many people do. I also think it's not unreasonable to think (in the wake of certain statements which I don't have handy at the moment) that the motivations of some in the GOP are racially motivated.

While I'm not surprised, I'm curious what the political affiliation breakdown of people that took the poll is. I don't see that anywhere in the link?
