Do you want them out on the street apologizing to everyone they see every time there is a terror attack or one is stopped? It's stupid to blame them all for the acts of a few.

I want to see the community speaking out and trying to do something about it. Look at Philadelphia. It's rife with violence right now. murders are occuring at an alarming rate. Does the community sit back and watch itself get destroyed? No. they try to do something. They hold rallies, they get out in the streets and have marches against violence. They get people to gether to go out and clean up thier neighborhoods.

What have the Arabs done to stop thier own self destruction? They elect terrorist governments and chant "death to america".

They don't view the people they elect as terrorists, they view them as standing up for their interests and against the injustice and persecution they feel every day.. (I'm assuming you're referring to Hamas and Hezbollah)

I think the claim that this or that is a terrorist, and thus all aspirations that country has for their people are somehow ignored/invalid, etc, is a wrong approach and only perpetuates a cycle of violence

Without the root causes of terrorism being addressed by nations wishing to stop it, they'll never succeed without going to lengths I think most reasonable people would find unacceptable.

the root causes of this problem are as much cased by the hatred engrained in thier own society as they are caused by the west "intervening" in the middle east

They were diverted becuase that's how they looked. IMO this guy should be diverted and hand-checked, too.

Since he's white I guess that means it's not racial profiling, so by definition it can't be racial discrimination, right?

The person who is in charge of diverting suspicious people to the hand-check. I don't care if it's TSA, Southwest, or the United States of America's Federal Division of Identifying Suspicious People.

I was just wondering who stopped them, I don't really care since it was not in the US. We already know that a lot of Europe has institutionalized racism and a huge problem with integrating immigrants.

I just flew out of Malaysia (in Asia) where 60% of the population are muslim. Many have traditional middle eastern features and coloring. The other 40% are of chinese descent. Asian countries, especially S.E. Asian countries have people who look like people from Saudi Arabia. The language might be different, but if you don't speak it how would you know?

I am not defending the people who did this as I think it was wrong, but wanted to clarify living in Asia does not mean you look chinese.

eh. it's the part of the world where suicide bombers and hatred for the west are the norm. If not arab , then call them middle-eastern. It makes no difference in who they are.

The majority of the world, including the people in Pakistan, consider themselves a part of South Asia.

It's kinda like calling Iran an Arab. They're Persian.
