| It is stunning how misinformed so many people are about the war and politics in general. We need to do a much better job of educating people in this country not only about politics but all subjects. I think history and the social sciences especially because I think that is where you learn how to think deeply and broadly. The poor who drop out in huge numbers should be given reasons to stay in school and I know it doesn't sound like it would work, but I think if you instilled in them early the importance of democracy and their responcibility in it of voting and the importance of learning to be able to make a informed vote you could keep many in school, but I know many would not want the poor to vote so I doubt if it will ever be done. |
