In an exclusive appearance on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos", Senator John Kerry, D-Mass., blasted fellow Democrat Senator Joe Lieberman for continuing his bid in the Connecticut Senate race despite a narrow loss to newcomer challenger Ned Lamont in the Democratic primary earlier this month. "I'm concerned that (Lieberman) is ...

| Kerry Calls Lieberman the New Cheney
Think this illustrates pretty well why people are frustrated with Lieberman. He sounds like a Republican with his rhetoric that's out now, and Republicans are using him to help hurt the Democrats come election time. If Joe cared about the ability for Democrats to retake Congress and finally put a stop to the bullshit that's going on in America courtesy of Bush, he'd drop out. Hell, if he even cared about the people of CT, he'd drop out. But he doesn't, he cares about himself and his position as a Senator..

| If Lamont loses, and the Dems don't get back one chamber of Congress...I think I'm going to quit politics for a few years...I'll cast a ballot in '08 but thats about it I am not about to waste my time with the establishment Dems trying to force Lamont to lose and not being able to win elections in such an easy year, fuck politics then, I'll just check the nightly news and the daily show | ||||

| I think they'll pick up the House, but Democrats should be lining up to support Lamont.. a Lamont victory and Lamont doing well in the polls will increase turnout dramatically for the elections If it looks like he's going to be down and out come election day, I think a lot of people will wind up staying home | ||||

| I don't think that's true. You can't be doing something because you 'care about the country' when your actions run counter to everything you claim to stand for | ||||

| How is this Lieberman's fault and how is he out of step with the people of CT when he has the majority vote? Kerry is still full of shit. For such strong progressives you would think he would encourage independents. | ||||

| I wouldn't call someone who insults their own party, works against them, and works with the opposing party to hurt your own party's chances "an indepedent" The GOP won't endorse their own candidate, but they do publically support Lieberman and completely ignore the winner of the GOP candidate For all intents and purposes he is the GOP candidate | ||||

Why do I keep freaking out? Because Liebermans actions of working with the GOP to take down the Democrats...well it could work! The Dems could spend another 2 years in the minority while this country "stays the course" to new levels of debt, poverty, war and chaos

| I don't know if Lieberman is out of step with the people of Connecticut. So long as the polls have him winning over Lamont, I guess he's in touch with the people. It is quite obvious, though, that he's completely out of touch with his own party, since he's now the de facto GOP candidate and he's fucking over the Democrats. | ||||

| according to the polls the state is divided, so why shouldnt he run ? It is not like the Republican candidate is suddenly going to win, so shouldnt the people of Conn have a real campaign instead of an automatic win for Lamont ? | ||||
