I don't know what his part in all this was. You can't blame landlords for the tenets crimes in a normal world either.

So you don't think a landlord can be blamed for crimes that take place on his property, but you think a homeowner can be blamed (in part) for crimes that take place using something stolen from his home...

Nice logical consistency.

it was his home as far as i can tell. he didn't rent it out, therefore he wasn't a "landlord". he can be blamed for crimes taking place on his property.

What? If the landlord isn't there and has no clue what is going on, no, they shouldn't be blamed for the actions of tenets. Homeowners committing crimes and getting charged with them are totally different. Nice comparison.

This is really all speculation and you guys are assuming facts that may or may not be true. Until it comes out in the trial there is no point even talking about what he is responsible for if you don't know.
Shit I might as well assume that he was eating the dogs brains and holding satanic rituals in his basement where he defiled the corpses.
You guys are arguing specifics about what he knew, and whether he is liable for stuff that happened on his property when he was or maybe wasn't there.. You don't know any of it, so arguing it is a waste of breath.

You can't say stuff like "He obviously didn't live there" if you don't know anything of the sort. All we know is that he is being charged with this crime. We know what the news media reports to us which may or may not be accurate. I think all we can assume at this point is that he had some involvement. That's all we know.

He's a multi-millionaire football player who is under strict rules of conduct from the NFL.
He bought the house and gave it to a family member. Even if he didn't know what was happening on the property, he should have. He's being watched for misconduct constantly.

You would think he would be smart enough to keep a watch on something he can be held criminally liable for.

And yes you are liable for what a tenant does. If I am the owner of a house and you just live there and are caught selling drugs, my house can be seized.

Liability is different than convictions of crimes.

Agreed, but he's also being charged with conspiracy which makes every person indicted criminally punishable for all crimes related to the dog fighting.

And who knows if that is even a viable charge in this case?

The feds seem to think it is (and they have something like a 96% conviction rate).

Given that, would you call said person a "cold-blooded killer"?

The specific name used was Michael Vick...

Anyway, I don't know what I'd call the person...I don't think the label particularly matters either.

a bulletin off Myspace that's going around right now...

MICHAEL VICK : YOU MESSED UP BIG TIME.

DO YOU REALLY THINK, THAT BILLIONS OF DOLLARS COLLECTED FROM PIT BULL TERRIER FIGHTS ; ARE REALLY WORTH AS MUCH AS THIS ?

http://i13.tinypic.com/4yj67vk.jpg

MAYBE THIS ?
http://i16.tinypic.com/4lh8c93.jpg

SO NOT EVEN THIS, HUH?

http://i12.tinypic.com/5yinr5u.jpg

MOST DEFINITELY NOT.
NO AMOUNT OF MONEY IS WORTH THE PAIN & SUFFRAGE OF THESE INNOCENT DOGS. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU MAY THINK, IT'S WHAT US CARING PEOPLE KNOW. KNOW, THAT BRINGING UP PIT BULLS FOR FIGHTING, JUST ISN'T RIGHT. PIT BULLS SHOULD BE BOUGHT INTO THIS WORLD, INTO A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT & PL ACED WITH A CARING FAMILY WHO WILL DO THEIR BEST TO TAKE CARE OF IT, & MAKE IT A FAMILY MEMBER OF THEIR OWN. GIVE THEM ATTENTION, LOVE, SUPPORT.

Pit bulls ARE NOT NATURAL-BORN KILLERS. It is at the OWNER'S FAULT, as to whether or not the pit bull BECOMES one, due to whether or not it's been HARSHLY ABUSED, or just not trained properly .

Pit bulls, really, are as SWEET as can be.

below are pictures of pit bulls who were bred in a SAFE & peaceful, caring environment.

THEY'RE AS GENTLE & LOVING AS EVER.........

So what I'm asking is....how could you take this:

& want to have it turn out lilke this....

http://i9.tinypic.com/54kdl7c.jpg
http://i10.tinypic.com/53ijj9y.jpg

...............??????????...

http://i14.tinypic.com/62gyhhg.jpg

how about this... ?

http://i13.tinypic.com/4lzugqa.jpg

SO I GUESS IN THE END..IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS ; IS THIS RIGHT?? THESE MAY NOT BE YOUR PETS, BUT THEY ONCE WERE, TO SOMEBODY ELSE. TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR PET RIGHT NOW. LOOK AT YOUR DOG...WOULD YOU TOLERATE THIS HAPPENING TO HIM/HER ? DEFINATELY NOT. WHY NOT STEP IN & TAKE ACTION, TO HELP SOMEONE ELSE'S PET JUST LIKE YOURS?

This is INHUMANE....
