I can put pictures, videos, music, or data on here.
It has an FM radio, a voice recorder and an internal speaker.

I'm psyched.

It was about $270. Not bad for everything you get. IT has output so that you can hook it up to your TV via RCA cables, It has a port so you can plug in a compact flash card and view pics from your digital camera.

The radio and the voice recorder are huge selling points. I think you can even record the radio directly, can't you? I would have bought one from Creative, but they're not mac compatible, which sucks. Had to go for an ipod, and I really like it, but I'm down on having to buy a radio attachment, and I would have loved to have a voice recorder.

Anyway, hope you really enjoy it!

Edit: good price too. Did it come with the a/v output cables, or a charging station, or do those come separately?

This makes the Iphone seem reasonably priced when you consider the phone, internet and camera features on top of most of what this can do.

I won't be buying either anytime soon though.

It comes with the A/V cables and with an AC adapter so you can plug it in and charge it. It actually charges twice as fast on the wall outlet as it does when hooked up to USB. There is a docking station you can buy, but that comes seperately. I'm not sure what the point of it is though.
I don't think that I can record radio, but I might be wrong, I have never tried.. and I probably never would anyway. quality is too poor for it to be worth while.

The AV out is actually a really useful feature. I downloaded Season 3 of Grey's Anatomy and put a few episodes on the Zen. Then hooked the Zen up to my TV and voila, no worrying about converting and copying to a DVD or anything. hook it up and play.

I also read online that, if you were so inclined, you could actually swap out the standard 30GB drive and swap in a 100GB drive. It takes a little bit of work, but it's just a standard lap-top drive. 100GB for the price of the 60GB model.

Yeah I suppose it's not a bad deal.. but I don't want a device that has all of that in one thing. talk about putting all of your eggs in one basket, and how much storage space does the iPhone have? I woudln't want to lose all of my pics, movies, mp3's , phone, planner, etc.. if I dropped the thing on the pavement by accident. EEK

I think they're like 8gb, but maybe you can upgrade?

I haven't looked too hard because verizon isn't going to be selling them anytime soon

I don't like iPods and the apple software. I never have. It might be totally irrational but it's how i feel.

iPods are popular because they are trendy.
I hate trendy.
With this, I can drag and drop the media I want on the player without fussing around with iTunes and synchronizing everything. The creative labs stuff is easier for me to use and more intuitive. Plus, Apple doesn't make a wide screen player like this, the Zen has better sound quality, and will handle more formats. Plus is has an FM radio.
The wide screen really is pretty sweet though. I mean if you are going to watch movies on a portable player,... the screen should be big enough for you to see.
