| Bourne Ultamatum great political message**Possible spoilers**Unchecked power Guys the wife and I saw Bourne Ultamatum yesterday. I'm generally not a fan of movies when the director and/or actors try to interject their personal feelings into the movie relating to politics. However, I have to say this movie was done well while at the same time getting the point across to the American people that absolute power corrupts absolutely. The general point was that the CIA should have covert ops and that the CIA is a critical part of our intelligence gathering, however, the CIA should not be allowed to run roughshot over US Citizens. Sacrificing the rights of citizens to "save lives" is not within the powers of the US agencies. These agencies regardless whether its the FBI or CIA or NSA must have a check/balance somewhere and that balance is clearly defined if the individual(s) involved are US citizens. As the movie unfolds the rogue agent (Jason Bourne) begins to realize that the CIA project he was working on was targeting US citizens. Furthermore the latest programs even after treadstone was disbanded have been even more extreme. They ultimately uncover numerous documents of US Citizens who had been "terminated" by our own programs. A pretty good movie that seemed to emphasize the protection of rights that we as US citizens have. Thoughts on the power of various US intel agencies and when/where do we draw the line? | ||||

| Problem is we'll never know, but former CIA agents helped write Syrianna and I believe that as pretty much fact (not the occurances but the attitudes) The CIA is like any corporation, its all office politics, only it involves lives not just your current job There's no real way to police them, as they'd always request some sort of blackops project that would be above public review, and all that shit would happen there its just one of those things in life that just sucks | ||||

| We should have drawn this line about 5 years ago when they wrote the Patriot Act. And we should have drawn it again when they renewed it.
