Foods Tastes Better With McDonald's Logo, Kids Say

Foods Tastes Better With McDonald's Logo, Kids Say - Forbes.com

"Most 3- and 5-year-olds who taste-tested a variety of foods said they preferred the ones in the McDonald's wrapper -- even though the foods were exactly the same, a new study finds......"

".....Each sample was divided into two portions: one wrapped in a McDonald's wrapper or placed in a McDonald's bag and the other in a wrapper without the McDonald's logo.

After taste-testing, the children more often said the chicken nuggets, fries, carrots and milk wrapped in the McDonald's logo tasted better, even though the foods were exactly the same."

Getting them while their young!!!!

I don't like being outdoors Smithers, for one thing, there's too many fat children

I suspect Adults would test the same. We are attracted to name brands. Advertising works!

I think John Stossel did a study of generic stuff and found that the food products and medicine were often the same ingredients and tested just as good as the name brands. The stuff that tested as lesser quality were the paper products and cleaning products.

This reminds me of soft drinks. Most people tend to like RC Cola the best, but when they know what they're drinking most people prefer Coke.

He did the same thing by saying "most people choose RC cola". Let's go by sales. People don't normally buy shit that tastes bad.

I didn't say most people choose RC Cola in the means of purchases. I said most people tend to like RC Cola the best, but if they know what they're drinking they prefer Coke. In blind taste studies RC Cola consistently wins. Don't blame me, I don't even drink soda.

And if you had any links or something to show said studies i'd agree. I don't drink soda either.

I think it's just a name recognition thing. I bet if they recreated the test with regional franchises and had one be Waffle House (primarily in the South) and the other be something like White Castle (generally not found in the South... except FL), then you'd see a rift in choice in different parts of the nation.

I think what this really proves is that kids watch too much TV.

I doubt the results would be much different if adults were tested.

I'm not sure it's a successful marketing ploy or if it's just kids though..

How many of you remember showing your parents how much faster you could run after getting a new pair of shoes that looked really cool?

There was a test of Starbucks drinkers some time ago and a number of them picked store bought brands as being starbucks after insisting they could all tell the difference. It is partly psychological.

No, they buy what advertising says to buy, mostly. If you look at leading bands, the products are generally not best value for money.
