| Whether Wilson is a clown or not doesn't take away from what Fox was arguing nor what the ruling was... This is a thread backfire, this is a somewhat old article I've been missing forever and I finally found it, now I can look up the actual court's opinion on WestLaw, and post that here, which I will do From what I looked up in the past, the other side certainly are not trustworthy, but it's irrelevant, what is interesting is what Fox News lawyers were arguing in court and what the final ruling was... Just another straw over a broken camel's back I'll post the court's opinion later | ||||

I don't watch much television news, so I'm not sure where "their normal liberal spin on the news" comes from, sounds like a baseless assertion really... course, since you seem to think you know so much about what I'm watching, you should contact The Nielson Company about a job.. I'm sure they would love to be able to apply your psychic tactics to their ratings system.. I bet it'd save them loads of money not having to install those boxes in people's houses.. But hey, at least you're finally admitting that Fox is a conservative mouthpiece and puts a "conservative spin" (read: obvious manipulation and distortion) on the news that's more appealing to the non-reality-based-community conservatives that primarily make up Fox's viewership. It's a breakthrough

| A press which distorts the facts to further a political organization, while claiming to be "Fair and Balanced" is dangerous.. especially when they're so successful at manipulating so many people. | ||||

| No news source is fair and balanced and no news source lives up to their BS company motto. Their mottos are like assholes, every outlet has one and they're all full of shit. For some reason people only care about Fox's BS motto though.

| Yeah, CNN furthering a political organization by presenting biased views on 'facts', while claiming to be 'the #1 name in news' is preposterous! | ||||

| That's subjective. If you're a conservative begging for a media outlet that will tell both sides of a story and actually present the conservative viewpoint you'd never get by watching MSNBC, CNN, etc it isn't all that "far, far, far more extreme" and the other mottos are just as bad. | ||||

You can point to ONE hour of blatantly liberal biased news, Keith Olbermann.. and the only people who can point to him are those who haven't defended O'Reilly and the other Fox anchors as "opinion" and thus not relevant to the discussion of bias

| Once again your talking opinion shows and not actual news. CNN and MSNBC's idea of a story on abortion is bring two people on, one being more pro-choice than the other. Fox News on the other hand has the balls to criticize Planned Parenthood and for that they're considered wildly and radically right. It's all about perspective of one's views. The other mainstream media outlets simply don't give the adverse opinion on most stories and don't present the news in a way conservatives are likely to enjoy. Their target audience appears to be people who think like them, which clearly isn't Fox News viewers. Last edited by JaJae; 08-08-2007 at 01:23 AM.. | ||||

| Did The Liberty Lounge just get taken over by the DailyKos or has it always been this way? This thread was hilarious how Thorgrim posted an old "news" story which didn't even come close to his intented meaning. Then you have people who never watch FOX News chiming in and bashing them. Then it is pointed out that the thread starter was lying from the beginning about the "news" story and you hear nothing but crickets from the left. Then someone chimes in with "yeah, but..." (you guessed it, they are left of center) and then the FOX News bashing continues. FOX News delivers the news. They have daily news programs on each and every day. They also have news commentary programs (their "prime-time" lineup). These news commentators are conservative for the most part. Keep in mind that Keith Olbermann has his own news commentary program on MSNBC and he is just as far to the left (if not further) than O'Reilly is to the right. But it's OK for Olbermann to be this way with some of you because he is on MSNBC and you agree with him (someone was actually defending him earlier in this thread). I watched Hardball with Chris Matthews for about 2 years every night. Then I slowly switched over to O'Reilly. I've been watching O'Reilly nearly every night for the past 3 years now. O'Reilly has nothing on Chris Matthews when it comes to interrupting and shouting down guests. I know this will debunk the theory from the leftwaffe that only O'Reilly does this, but I expect some of you to continue on your merry little way and only attack O'Reilly for doing this. Face it folks, the media ain't what it used to be. If you want honest news reporting (not commentary, but NEWS), you simply can't watch just one channel. You can't just visit foxnews.com or msnbc.com or cnn.com, you have to do your own research anymore. It's a shame, but our news has been tainted, just as our government has been tainted - with money. You can kick and scream all you want about FOX News being biased, but I'll clue you in on something - so are CNN, MSNBC, CBS and NBC. ABC is probably the closest thing to honest news reporting that we have left. But don't trust ABC completely and don't trust everything you read on the internet either. The truth is out there, you just have to dig through all the bullshit to get to it. It's a shame too, because most Americans are far too lazy to actually try to find out the truth. Long gone are the days of Walter Cronkite, when you could get an unbiased reporting of the news. Face it, just like civil debate in this country, news reporting has turned ugly as well. FOX News is no worse than any other media outlet. The only ones who fail to see that are those who have an agenda of their own or are just too fucking stupid to see it. | ||||
