From what I've read on various blogs, Olbermann is loved because he's the one guy with a news show that actually gets watched that has the balls to say what so much of the country has been feeling about Bush and his policies and where he's lead the country.. without pussyfooting around the issue and saying what is "politically correct"

He hasn't been wrong about much of what he's said about Bush, despite it being extremely partisan and harsh.

It's no secret I don't like where the neo-cons and Bush have taken the country. I think it's the wrong direction and I think he's done damage to the country that will take generations to repair..

Yet when Hannity and Bill O'Rielly say what "much of the country" has been feeling they're part of the vast right wing institutional bias?

Wait. Since the topic of this thread was found to be complete lies and bullshit, it was then turned into YET ANOTHER "Fox News is the Devil" thread?

Amazing

Yes.. because that's what Fox is. It's been admitted by people in this very thread

I'm not sure where your "Yet" comes from though, like there's some point you're attempting to counter.. but it's not there.

The difference between the 1 hour Olbermann gets and the 24 hours of Fox is, well, 23 hours of bias one way. Minus the few minutes Alan Colmes gets to quasi-defend the Democrats before being interrupted by Hannity.. Fox doesn't switch. MSNBC does, between a Republican Congressman, Tucker Carlson, and so forth.

But liberals think about Olbermann 24 hours a day, so it's just as bad.

Cool. Liberals should watch MSNBC and quit obsessing over Fox. Fox is one station out of hundreds available on all cable/sat services. Check out these other news channels:

CNN
CNN HN
MSNBC
CNBC World
CNBC
Bloomberg

Not to mention the networks news programs.

Tune 'em in. They are just a thumb click away!

Yes, don't you liberals worry about a station misinforming people. It's none of your business.

Oh, and don't boycott them either. The "conservatives" will go after you for that too.

Us conservatives don't bitch and moan about CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC misinforming people like the libs attack FOX. Nowhere near it. We just remain happy with what we have. Why can't you do the same?

People don't watch Fox 24 hours a day. Most people I know who keep up with current events watch the nightly news and maybe one opinion show. Fox's nightly news broadcasts really aren't that bad in comparison to MSNBC or CNN. Then when you compare Olbermann to O'Rielly, it's basically same shit different perspective.

I know people who watch Fox News and O'Rielly and people who watch Other news and Olbermann. They sound the same to me just with the opposite perspective Well to be honest most people I know who watch Olbermann are younger (25-35) and most people who watch O'Rielly are older (45+) and so the O'Rielly crowd is more mature in their political views in that they aren't as emotional and are more likely to back up their reasoning with personal or historic views and not quoting exactly what they heard on TV. That's just my perspective though.

Just about every poster in this thread has. The only way to prove Fox is worse than other news channels is to compare it.

Comparing the bias in Fox to that of the other channels is a fucking joke. I don't see CNN airing the liberal equivalent of 'U.N. blood money', that muslim 'documentary', or other bullshit specials that Fox airs.

It is a flat out lie to say Fox is comparable to any of the other news networks in terms of bias. This bullshit 'liberal media' rhetoric has gone on long enough, and it is just a talking point.

The media is geared towards sensationalism. It will be critical of any fucking administration in power (all though the lead up to the Iraq War is a glaring exception and further proof that there is no fucking liberal hold on the national tv media), just look at the Clinton scandal for proof.

I've made threads about the blatant bias "documentaries" and specials from the other outlets on this forum.

It is a flat out lie to say Fox is comparable to any of the other news networks in terms of bias. This bullshit 'liberal media' rhetoric has gone on long enough, and it is just a talking point.
I can also say it's a flat out lie to claim there is no such thing as a liberal media..

The media is geared towards sensationalism. It will be critical of any fucking administration in power (all though the lead up to the Iraq War is a glaring exception and further proof that there is no fucking liberal hold on the national tv media), just look at the Clinton scandal for proof.
The media is definitely geared towards sensationalism. But they certainly aren't geared primarily towards pro-conservative sensationalism.

Roughly 56% of the country thinks abortion should be legal. Just over half. Some would say our country is fairly split on the issue.
Abortion

A sensationalized story could be about all the dead children we're throwing away in medical waste. The very notion of me even suggesting this probably infuriates half the members on this board. It is not a PC argument because the media sensationalizes the other side of the story such as coat hanger abortions and blaming that on conservatives as well as reciting every abortion clinic protest (even peaceful ones) with disdain. The other half of the country finds this equally infuriating.

There are two sides to every story and the media could sensationalize either side. They typically chose not to.

Some liberal outlets have even admitted bias, such as ABC and BBC. They say it isn't intentional, but it's there.

Do you know where abortion lies on "importance in vote"...like during the 2006 elections?

Do you know it's only about 14% that want it completely banned

It's really not that controversial, another poll right below that gives a better view: 75%+ (undecideds) of americans want abortions as they are or still allowed but with stricter rules (say no partial birth abortion, no paris hilton getting an abortion at 5 months in because she thinks its cool, etc)
