Bush supporter informal poll

According to a recent poll, Bush supporters consist of "conservative, white, Republican man, an evangelical Christian who goes to church regularly." so I'm wondering how accurate this is. If you are a Bush supporter, and yes we know who is and isn't, please post if this portrayal is accurate.

Bush Down to His Base of Support

WASHINGTON (AP) -- To see the type of person who still backs him, President Bush need only look in the mirror. The president fits the composite of today's Bush supporter: a conservative, white, Republican man, an evangelical Christian who goes to church regularly.

What is your definition of Bush Supporter? Some things I support, some I don't. Like I imagine you do with most politicians.

If they did a poll on Condoleeza Rice supporters I would guess you might find most look the same as Bush supporters. Would that be news worthy?

The only subgroups where a majority of people give Bush the nod are Republicans (67 percent), conservatives (53 percent) and white evangelicals who attend religious services at least once a week (56 percent)
Is there really anything new here? Is this news to you?

Someone who would vote for him again. Someone who defends his policy on a regular basis, such as 85% of fox news.

Well, I would define a Bush supporter as someone who still approves of the overall job performance of Bush, and would answer in the affirmative when asked.

The news to me is that he's lost pretty much everyone who wasn't in the above demographic. I know some redneck white guys and gals who are right wing that also don't go to church. If his support among people like them has dropped, that's interesting. Lost most women, lost most non-whites, lost most non-Christians. Not really surprising news, but still interesting, at least to me.

I have found the most common reason they support bush is "because i just do" when you ask them why.

That's funny. Most of the ones that I talk to segue directly into justifying the war, and then right out of the political conversation.

I love how we have gotten jaded to the point we primarily vote against a candidate instead of for one. It's like playing monopoly or risk with a group of people and trying to get second, you can justify not being able to win all you want, but you end up looking like a dick and ruining the game.

I agree. If anyone here thinks I was excited to vote for Bush on his 2nd term you would be mistaken. But I knew he was going to be a shitload better then Kerry.

Actually, the only person I can remember that I was really excited to vote for was Reagan.

That would be my definition and the definition of the poll as well, since it's those who approve of the job he is doing. I guess either people aren't going to answer (or are ashamed to answer) if they are a Bush supporter or we have none in these forums?

Yeah, I'm sure Kerry would have put in place a bunch of cronies with no qualifications to so many important posts, continued to alienate the rest of the world with his overwhelming arrogance, decided not to listen to his Generals, w he would have then fired for disagreeing with him.. all while managing to refuse to give an inch to people who might know more about him on a subject because they had a different opinion than a desired outcome, and completely shut out any room for dissent or objection with his inner circle.

I mean, it's so like him.

We don't know if he would or wouldn't have.

But I'm also not stupid enough to vote for someone based on a single topic
