I am loyal...

I was asked to post this by another member who read it after I wrote it a week or so back.

I am loyal not to any party or policy, any politician or president, nor any state or region or any bill or measure, no political course or lobby group.

I am loyal to a 220 year old piece of paper. Yes, an inanimate object. A piece of paper that was drafted by men who could only be called visionaries and pioneers. A piece of paper that was intended to be a contract between the people and the government that they allowed to govern them based upon this contract. A piece of paper that spelled out the law of the land and the circumstances under which the people would ALLOW themselves to be governed. A document that let the government know to be afraid of its citizens, not the converse. A simple collection of words so profound it is impacted history at every turn since its inception.

This modest document, proud in stature and profound in nature tells us how we, as Americans should live. How we should breath.

It is explains our DUTIES, not our rights. It instructs us on how to be a part of the checks and balances.

It tells us, in plain english, not to be interpreted or misconstrued, but to be taken LITERALLY what our DUTIES are.

I pledge my loyalty and allegiance to this document before no other than my God. I pledge live its responsibilities. I pledge to bleed and even kill for it.

I, of my own free will, pledge to uphold the Constitution of this United States of America until my last living breath and I will bear arms against anyone who tries to fade the ink that formed this country.
