Feel Sorry for John Edwards

Being a Rich White Man is just not fair these days:

"In some ways, it's the way we have to go," Edwards says. "We can't make John black, we can't make him a woman. Those things get you a lot of press, worth a certain amount of fundraising dollars. Now it's nice to get on the news, but not the be all and end all."

Now we need to feel sorry for John because he does not have a race or gender advantage over substance? What does this party represent anyway? They might as well CGI some perfect PC candidate!

Yeah that's why fox news constantly refers to Obama's heritage and constantly use his middle name in a veiled attempt to connect him to terrorism by playing on peoples cultural fears about arabs. OMG You mean he has the same name as Saddam Heusein? He's one ot them!
That's why Ann coulter called John Edwards a "faggot". No they don't care about any of that stuff.

Race and gender matter to the GOP just as much if not more than to the other parties and you know it.

what on earth are you talking about? I had the tv on foxnews the entire day yesterday and they spent a ton of time talking about the democrat candidates and not once did they mention his middle name. Furthermore who gives a crap what his middle name is? It could be Bin Laden for all I care it doesn't change who Obama is.

they have made a habit of both mentioning and emphasizing his middle name ... your hours of viewing aside

I remember when it was thought Condi Rice might run. I don't recall the redneck outrage, but I do recall the Aunt Jemima cartoons from the left. Why not ask her what the real social concern would be for her and her family? Perhaps something about not living in a glass house before one throws stones should be considered? Because if you don't think a segment of the left does not have a problem in dealing with people as individuals and not as a very lock step political race and gender representative you need to take a more careful look.

Oh, it is the same or rimes with Heusein. I am not even sure until I google. Funny this Fox watcher had long foggoten that. This is just the type of FOX media myth without fact B.S. that some of you keep posting! I think it's a valid question really. There has been much ado about Obama's race, and Hillary's gender.. it's gotten them free press, which is usually the best kind of press for a campaign.

I don't think anyone is suggesting we should "feel sorry for him" about it, but it's a fact that the race / gender has gotten the Obama / Clinton campaign a lot of free press.

I believe that is what they were trying to say.

There are certain things that can be an advantage or liability in being a Presidential candidate here and certain things can get you more air time.
