No. They were carried about by a perverted sect of Islam.

They believed in Jesus though? Why can't they be "a perverted sect of" Christianity?

I'm looking through his eyes when he sees Deists as "Christians!" and considering some muslims and buddhists as Christians? If you are going to broaden your mind that widely to the term Christian, the next logical step is to see if we can't apply it to basically all monotheists

I'm not sure what that has to do with the topic though

Try doing some actual studying of Enlightenment era Deism. It is not like the Deism of today.

Dumpy and I have had this discussion many times in the past. Vast majority of Founding Fathers were "normal" Christians. A few were Unitarian Christians. A few were Deist Christians.

the original article is basically full of retarded claims which can easily be completely discredited yet will be swallowed whole by those who already have a formed opinion about Ron Paul

I agree with the Daily Kos author in that Ron Paul is a colorful figure.....

Calling him Nuts is a little late and two dollars short.

I actually think he may be the only sane person in office. Everyone else is nuts.

Don't get me wrong. He has some sound ideas about economics and less government. I want him in the debates for that reason. I hope he can push Republicans in the right direction on those issues and make them stop trying to be Democrat Party Light!

It is the Foreign Policy Conspiracy crap where I leave the building.

If you believe that you're following the will of Christ, then you're Christian. If you believe that Muhammed was bestowed the word of God and sent to recreate the religion as it was once understood by Adam, Abraham, and the gang, then you're Muslim. It's really that simple.

Buddhism is a non-theistic religion. It does not preclude any sort of theism, though it does reject specific elements of various theistic religions.

Yes, they were all Christians. I would NOT go as far as Paul and say that the Founders believed that the government should be sanctioning and funding church functions (i.e., abrogate the "separation of Church and State"), but I will agree that they were all Christians. Thomas Paine is probably the only Founder that anyone could possibly say was not a Christian.

He's probably talking about Paul's references to NAFTA and NWO.
