I took the long way around because it was against the flow of morning rush hour traffic, btw. Had I cut through downtown Dallas I'd have shaved probably 35-40 miles off the trip, but added 45 minutes to an hour in the time it took.

When I go to one office I have a 130mile commute and work a 14 hour day. After reading this thread I realize I need a new job...

Will they give you mileage? When I was opening a new office in Cary, NC I would drive an hour and a half each way every day for a few months. But I also got like 70 cents a mile. My checks looks great.

Scott (the manager at the location I went to) told me to track my mileage, so I think so. I have no idea how much per mile they're going to give me though.

Mileage-wise absolutely could've, time wise not a chance. 635 is one of the most congested highways in the entire country, but by going against the flow of traffic on it I didnt drop below 65 mph once on it. Had I gone the other way on 635 or down through downtown Dallas I'd have gone about 25 mph most of the way.

Same with the tollways (green highways).

and if it's the IRS standard mileage rate, that's an extra $67.85 on my check.

Well I don't have that many miles to commute - only about 45ish - but I take the train into NYC from Long Island and then take the subway and then walk a couple blocks to the office, all told, I have an Hour and 50 min commute 1 way, so almost 4 hours of my day is getting to or from work - and thats everyday

That's insane. I could never do that.

My daily commute to and from the office I normally work out of is MAYBE 50 minutes total (25 minutes each way).
