Mercury Amalgam Fillings

My teeth are fecked, I think I swallowed a filling and I popped down to the dentist for my regular 10 yearly check up and the fecker is offering them mercury fillings.

Are they a bit dodgey, and what if I swallow more. Are white fillings better?

i have some old metal fillings from when I was younger still. if i ever get a better dental plan than i have now i might get them drilled out and refilled white.....

I would just watch your turds, fish out the filling you swallowed and have them reuse that one. Its probably cheaper.

Really? I heard they were pulling the old mercury style of out peoples mouths just to put the healthier white ones in. I have even heard of people that had slight health problems get better after having them removed.

There's some indecision about it, it seems amongst the dental community.

Most dentists seem to avoid arguments and go for whatever you ask, hopefully the dearer white fillings, to make a few more bob.

The mercury ones (safer 3% mercury compared to the olde 65% mercury) seem to be mechanically stronger, last longer, a lot cheaper, and used for the back teeth that take a lot more tougher grinding and are not seen as much.

The white ones break easy and need re-doing more often.

Still don't like the idea of mercury in me gob though? Feckin stuff is sheer poison, long term highly toxic carcinogen, able to attack the nervous system and turn you into a jelly head.
