I don't know. I think sometimes I get a better grasp of learning about a historical period or event by reading the fiction of that era, than I do just reading a history book.

I feel like I can relate to the time period better when I can personalize it to myself in feeling like I went through it with someone.

I read this book a long ass time ago about a woman who fled Vietnam during the war, and came to America, and it was about her trying to adapt to America, and marrying a white man, and how hard her life was, and it made me feel like I understood the plight of Vietnamese immigrants better than just knowing a number of how many of them came here.

When I read the Narrative of a Slave Girl this summer, I feel like I learned more about slavery than I did just the history book side of the issue and who was for it, and against it.

Fiction can make it personal. And sometimes when it's personal, it hits you harder.....

I'm not that far into it yet.

All it's talked about so far is recognizing when you are having a miscarriage, the different types of miscarriage, recognizing what risk category you are in and the importance of bedrest.

HELLZ YEAH!!!

After this semester I want to read RUM DIARIES by Thompson.

I know he had a hand in the film, like a large one, and I love the dialogue, and the depiction of the drug experience, because I think it's quite accurate. He was ingenious.

I am almost done with "A Brilliant Solution: Inventing America's Constitution", I'll probably finish it today.

I have no idea what time I finished reading last night, I know I did 2 chapters, and I didn't wake up til noon, so it must have been pretty late

They put out a book in August that expands on the original material and answers questions submitted in response to the original article.
