When Clinton entered his second term he fired quite a few prosecutors and gave no reason as well. Nobody cared. It really does happen all the time.

I agree that Gonzalez should be fired. I agree he has no business being the attorney general. And to be honest after the media scandal of the prosecutors he probably should have gone if for no other reason than that. However, that doesn't change my opinion that the whole scandal is a media circus.

Gonzalez is not fit for the office he held, he did a horrible job and needed to be removed. Anything that forces his ass out is an acceptable measure in my opinion, but it doesn't change what I think of the circumstance.
Which fed pros Clinton appointee did he fire?

*sigh*

Can you guys please give up this strawman?

Most Presidents change DA's when they start terms. Very few get rid of them in the middle of the term.

What happened here is not like what other Presidents have done.

Even my worst days as attorney general have been better than my father's best days," Gonzales said. "I have lived the American dream." Gonzales' father was a Mexican-American construction worker who raised eight children in a two-room home near Houston.

some insight why he might have held on so long after he lost the confidence of most people

The prosecutors may have understood that happens when administrations change, these prosecutors apparently did not understand why they were targetted after not aggressively pursuing DNC operations enough for RNS elected officials.
