Laminating is expensive? NO. no it's not.

I have a bit of useful information for you guys that I thought I would pass along.

My wife teaches grade school, and that being the case, she has all sorts of colorful posters and other such items which she buys and uses in her classroom. Typically she laminates these things because it makes them last alot longer. Anyway... She gave me a pile of posters so that I could go out on my lunchbreak and get them laminated. The total lot consisted of 2 small posters, about 2'x2', 3 large posters 3.5' x 2' and one long skinny one, maybe 1 foot by 3.5 feet.
So I take all of this junk to Kinko's and have them get me an estimate.
The guy came back with a price of a little over 90 dollars. 90 dollars?! for probably a dollars worth of material?! GTFO. On top of that I would have had to come back the next day to pick it up.
I said no thanks and I left.

That weekend I went to a teaching supply store near my home. They had a laminating machine that you use yourself. I laminated all of my stuff for... get this... 6 dollars. SIX dollars.

If you ever need to do any laminating for school or for your business or whatever... for the love of god don't go to Kinko's. Find a local teachers supply store and do it there for 1/10th the cost and the same results.

yeah kinko's is very expensive for everything.

I only go there because they take care of us completely. Walk in with a box and an address and walk out, they do all the work

Kinko's thrives off people not knowing better and the last minute guy.

The ONLY time I ever use them is when I am out the door for a meeting and need to get a large format print done immediately.

Otherwise, the stuff goes to Ridgways (which is still expensive for what you get, but cheaper than Kinko's).
