Making him get out of the car and harassing him about it is wrong.
But when you read the transcript he exaggerates everything and he also does things that he knows will make him look like an asshole, like not rolling his window all the way down until they ask him to. First he says they stalled his car once, then he says they stalled it a few times. Then he says they road the clutch and he saw smoke coming from the car. Bullshit. His problem is he feels he has to lie and exaggerate to make things worse than they already are, and he doesn't have to to make his point. The facts speak for themselves. He has a good plan, but the fact that he is too immature to do it correctly makes it less enticing.

| And when you don't co-operate, the cop may take further action. Ask more questions, ask you to get out of the car, ask to search the car. It really makes no sense to me why people have to give police a hard time. They have a job to do. You are not having your rights trampled. You are not having your rights taken away. Treat someone doing a tough job with some respect. Jesus. | ||||

| You can deny him permission to search, without probable cause he has no justification to search it. Give the police a hard time? Please. That's the misnomer of the century. It's called asserting your rights. | ||||

What did they do to deserve someone treating them with disrespect because they ask "how are you tonight?" We know you have rights. We know you are a zealot. There comes a time to assert your rights. It's his "right" to use it in ANY situation he deems NECESSARY. Should he just do it all the time or use his best discretion? This is not a Constitutional argument people. Treat others with some respect. Fuck. It's not that hard.

| It's acting like an asshole to assert your RIGHTS? lol. I guess we can just do away with lawyers, miranda, and all that good stuff and just let cops do and ask whatever they want with no restrictions.. we wouldn't want to act like an 'asshole' to them. I don't think it's disrespect to not share my personal business with them. It's personal for a reason. I don't know them. Every day they go to work could be their last. Does that mean they should have free reign to do what they want? I mean, how about the soldiers in Iraq, the same can be said of them, should we not give them any rules of engagement? Because that's what we're talking about here. Police officers have to act within the restrictions placed on them by the constitution and other laws and regulations.. asserting my rights and not allowing a police officer to go beyond those restrictions is not disrespect. It's self respect. And, a police officer can not use a nightstick in any situation just because he deems it necessary. If it's shown he abused his power, he'll be suspended and prosecuted and likely sued in civil court as well. | ||||

| It's funny you give moderators on a fucking internet forum the right to take away free speech on a whim....but the cops can't get an answer to a mundane question. Fuck it. You guys can be dicks to police officers all you want...you'll never need their help...ever. | ||||

And, what business is it of a police officers where I'm going if I'm not doing anything wrong and haven't broken any laws? It's not being a dick.
