Peer reviewed GW refuters

Linzy's thread was locked, so I'll put it here since Motivez won't get naked and get on cam for me.

Some of us have been saying for some time that there are those who do not agree with the "consensus" that Global Warming is real or man made.

Well, here is a bit of information on the subject. I just ask that it be read with an open mind and not with your conclusions drawn already. It is ok to change your mind or acknowledge that things aren't certain anymore.

Here ya go:
WASHINGTON, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A new analysis of peer-reviewed literature reveals that more than 500 scientists have published evidence refuting at least one element of current man-made global warming scares. More than 300 of the scientists found evidence that 1) a natural moderate 1,500-year climate cycle has produced more than a dozen global warmings similar to ours since the last Ice Age and/or that 2) our Modern Warming is linked strongly to variations in the sun's irradiance. "This data and the list of scientists make a mockery of recent claims that a scientific consensus blames humans as the primary cause of global temperature increases since 1850," said Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Dennis Avery.

Other researchers found evidence that 3) sea levels are failing to rise importantly; 4) that our storms and droughts are becoming fewer and milder with this warming as they did during previous global warmings; 5) that human deaths will be reduced with warming because cold kills twice as many people as heat; and 6) that corals, trees, birds, mammals, and butterflies are adapting well to the routine reality of changing climate.

My opinion is that there is no real legitimate consensus on and that far more research and discussion is required to definitively determine whether or not it is something that; A. Exists B. We contribute to or control.

I agree. my whole point is that the human race is taking too much of the blame. Although I am in agreement we are impacting the environment negatively, I don't believe we are single handedly causing the present "global warming".

someone email Al Gore!!!!!

It almost doesn't make sense to even argue about it anymore. Especially since we all agree, for the most part, that we need to reduce our dependance on fossil fuels and that we need to continue to try and pollute less.

Dependance on fossil fuels means dependance on foreign countries in the middle east which isn't good for us. It is also a non-renewable resource. So whether you believe in human caused climate change or not, people usualy agree on things we should be doing anyway. It's almost academic at this point.

I've been saying this forever. Most of the things that are suggested to stop GW if it is real are things that can be justified in many different ways. Let's just stop selling it under something that might not be real.

I've posted snippets from this article in another thread, but it was on topic, so I figured I'd drop it here as well.

Good thread. I will look at it with an open mind. I'd like to look directly at their argument and their evidence first, though, before addressing it further. This looks like a press release for a book, though. Is there any other information that you can show me about this report?

First, I know you were probably trying to be funny, but have you ever heard the phrase "It's funny because it's true?" Well, the graphic you posted isn't funny because Al Gore didn't "make up" global warming. The globe really is warming, and human activity is contributing to it.

Second, "single handedly"? Who says that we are "single handedly" causing the present global warming?

I don't think anyone in the world says we are "single handedly" causing the present global warming. I really, really wish I knew what compelled you to believe that, or to frame the issue in such a way.

Like who?

Is this anecdotal or do you have a link to some research backing this claim up?
