I fail to see what is so hard to understand about this: when you are dealing with a police officer, DO WHAT THEY SAY (within reason). If you have an issue with how things were handled, deal with it at a later date.

The guy was CLEARLY resisting, and he had every opportunity to leave of his own will before the cops moved in. The guy clearly saw the taser was out and ready to be used, yet STILL resisted.

You resist, you get pozzed. End of story.

It looked to me like he was already on the ground with several officers around him and then they decided to tazer him.

If you listen, he said to let him up and he'd walk out, they didn't move and then the guy pulled out a taser and went after him.. then pulled him out.

Excessive force, was completely unneeded, the guy posed no threat to anyone.

I think the guy was mental. Check out this video LiveLeak.com - Kerry Taser Incident....raw footage of after he was tasered and led away

There was no dealing with this guy. He wasn't going to do anything the Police said including leaving the room. Just as they were going to walk out of the room he broke free and tried to get away. It seems the tazer was the ONLY thing that allowed them to get control of the situation. Good for them.

Yeah lets make sure everyone thinks like us and acts like us and is calm and dresses the same. If you have your own opinion or raise your voice at a question and answer session with a politician and be prepared to get tasered. The police were going to charge him with inciting a riot. Are you kidding me??? Inciting a riot. I guess I never saw all the other students rioting or was this edited out of the video. Out of control police brutality at its finest.

Unabridged compliance reminds me of a police state. I question our freedoms when I watch something like this.

EXACTLY. Do what they say. He was clearly resisting even when he was on the ground, because you can see the cops trying to get his arms behind his back. He was continuing to resist, so they tasered him. Now there are going to be a bunch of douchebags on campus crying foul and whatnot, when this could have all been avoided had the fucker LISTENED TO THE POLICE.

He had a chance to leave. He refused. He only begged to leave once it was clear he was going to be detained. That's his own fault.

After you refuse a lawful order to leave, resist arrest, and assault police officers you just gave you your opportunity to walk away. I fail to see how this is hard to understand.

Tasers are not painful and they inflict no damage. Tasers are used to avoid injury. You people are unaware of what tasers are and what they do so don't judge. They are not a torture device. Would you rather him have a broken arm from the officers trying to cuff him or him back elbow an officer in the throat? Fuck no that is why you use a taser. To avoid inury and to get the suspect under control. Just because someone is on the ground does not mean they are under control and no longer a threat. The taser last five seconds and when it's done you feel perfectly normal.

I've been pepper sprayed tasered, punched, etc.. I would always choose to be tasered over physical force. ALWAYS.

Tasers are NOT painful? This kid certainly over reacted as I think he originally intended but this was clearly an excessive use of force. You make a great argument, I can see your side of the situation but the fact is they had four or five officers holding the kid down and he WAS in cuffs at the time the officer decided to taser him. Had the kid not been in cuffs and continue to resist arrest I could see a strong argument for using the taser, however, the officers had the situation under control (despite what little resistence was still coming from the him) and had him cuffed.

You're going to sit here and honestly argue that four officers could not control a handcuffed individual that was merely average in size? Sorry man but you're wrong on this and I'm not the type to generally second guess cops. My dad spent 31 years as a police officer for the most part they get shit on by society and the media blows shit out of proportion but not in this instance.

I could be wrong but when I watched I did not believe he was handcuffed when he was supposedly tasered. My opinion might change if that is the case. When you are tasered you cannot move nor speak words. So if the kid was screaming things he was not being tasered at the time.

There went freedom of speech. It'd be different if the kid was threatening Kerry or something, but the guy was a Kerry supporter.

Wow.. just wow.

When you don't follow the rules at a private event, it's no longer a speech issue. They had every right to remove him.

The extra stuff like the Taser was perhaps an over-reaction. But they guy also shouldn't have resisted the cops.
