QUESTION: Do you think there’s a risk of a recession? How do you rate that?

BUSH: You know, you need to talk to economists. I think I got a B in Econ 101. I got an A, however, in keeping taxes low and being fiscally responsible with the people’s money.

Wow. That is awesome. I honestly can't help but laugh, and for multiple reasons. First, a president admitting he's not good at economics is funny in a scary kinda way. Second, fiscally responsible? Are you serious? We're about to have to raise our debt cap for christ's sake! Last, a smart person would have at least been able to speak on the concerns he had talked over with his economic advisors.

I just sit here... shaking my head.

Yeah, a B isn't anything to complain about, but you don't say "I dunno, I got a B in econ" when someone asks you an economic question and you're the FUCKING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED FUCKING STATES!!!!

Bush wasn't being serious when he said he got a B. I saw the clip. He was being sarcastic, and he said that with a smirk and chuckled a bit too. He was dodging the question, but focusing on what he literally said, rather than the point he's conveying, is just plain silly.

I'm pretty sure I gave 3 reasons why his quote was retarded. The 'B in econ' part is the least of the 3. I think it's dumb for him to say something like that to brush off a question he doesn't want to answer, but the other two parts are worse.

I'd give him a D- as far as lowering taxes. He did just enough not to fail completely, but he made no significant permenant changes for the better.

i get the humor part, as in, he's trying to be funny. McCain can pull it off, Bush, sadly, just gets a shake of the head.
