WAVY.COM - Wisconsin governor defends Dominion meetings Wisconsin governor defends Dominion meetings
MADISON, Wis. Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle said today he properly met with executives from Virginia's Dominion Resources seeking to buy a nuclear power plant whose sale is now under investigation.
Doyle told reporters he met with executives of the Richmond-based utility when the company wanted to buy the Kewaunee plant. The governor described the meeting as completely appropriate.
State and federal investigators are looking into whether Doyle's administration had any role in influencing state regulators to approve the sale of the plant.
Doyle said he has never tried to influence state utilities regulators.
The investigators are reviewing whether donations to Doyle's re-election campaign by executives with the two utilities trying to sell the Kewaunee plant influenced regulators appointed by Doyle to approve the sale.
Campaign records show that Dominion executives donated two-thousand dollars to Doyle's campaign in 2004 when the sale was pending.
Doyle says chief of staff also met with Dominion executives while the sale was pending.

This out to be interesting. Not quite sure whats going on here I've only found a few articles on it but the fact taht he was accepting campaign contributions from a company wanting to buy an asset that he had control over seems kinda

Hopefully this is nothing but given the state of politics in this country I wouldn't be surprised if its bribery.
