| they keep people from achieving what they can achieve, by making them think something out of their control is affecting the situation. superstitions are dumb...........players would win more games if they didn't have rituals and shit to deal with to appease their little brains. | ||||

rally caps are awesome. baseball is the way it is for a reason and if you don't like it, then you don't have to be a fan anyway. | ||||

| i'm rather offended by your comments Linzy; just because someone doesn't subscribe to superstitions and curses and other such mystical voodoo with regards to a sport does not in any way make them less of a fan. | ||||

| I used to bow to every corner before a fight (martial art) more out of honor and some superstition. I think every sport has it. | ||||

| Tradition is different than superstition. If you're supposed to bow to every corner, even if it's to "honor the gods" then that's not superstition. Superstition is when you think running around your chair three times will "change their luck." A friend's mother does that.......if the red sox are in a funk she'll get up and run around the chair three times. The only argument I've ever seen my friend's parents have was when she was doing that and the father said "while you're running how about you take a detour and get me a beer." Her luck-changing chair running didn't work and the sox lost and she blamed her husband's talking. | ||||
