| Yet another reason for me to despise the USA PATRIOT act hooray for an idiotic U.S. government act that has been declared partially unconstitutional fucking with my ability to get ownership of and information on an annuity.  In order to transfer ownership of an annuity in my parents' name to my name, even though I have been listed as the annuitant since it was created but couldn't be owner because I was a minor, both my parents and I have to fill out some idiotic form mandated by the USA PATRIOT act that is basically a repeat of all the information on the ownership transfer form.  Hooray for the U.S. government making assets as illiquid as possible, all in the name of adding another layer of bureaucratic bullshit to a process.

| My wife processes residential mortgages and her paperwork nearly doubled thanks to the patriot act. She also says that it doesn't stop shady shit from going on. There are plenty of ways around it if you know the system. The only people who are affected are just normal people who have done nothing wrong. | ||||
