Cindy Sheehan has bench warrant for arrest

WASHINGTON — A bench warrant was issued Thursday for antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan, who did not appear for arraigment Thursday in a Washington, D.C., courtroom to face charges related to her Sept. 10 disorderly conduct arrest at the Capitol.

Distict of Columbia Superior Court Judge Michael McCarthy issued the order to Sheehan around noon, a court spokeswoman said. The warrant means she is to be taken into custody and brought before the court. She also faces one count of unlawful assembly.

Why on earth she would fail to appear on something like this is beyond me

Seems like a no contest plea and a fine and she could simply walk away, but now she's compounded her problem.

I didn't hear anything in the media about her doing anything Sept 10th. Now I have. I have a feeling that's why she didn't appear. She's an attention whore.

So many of us called it from the start when she first started her nonsense and we were told we were heartless and wrong. Now it seems unanimous that she's an attention whore who was thrown into the media by the Democrats and media to further a political agenda.

Maybe Ms. Sheehan likes being in jail. Or it could be she has no idea how the laws in the US work.

Look how happy she is smiling for the news cameras as she gets arrested like she's accomplished something.

That's a protesters ultimate goal. Getting their message spread is the whole idea.

It's like calling a singer or an actor an attention whore. Attention is what they seek by definition.

She was supposedly doing this for her son. Initially I think that was true...then I think she got used to the attention and now just wants to keep her name in the news for her...aka an attention whore, its not about the message anymroe with her.

If she were getting arrested at the local bowling ally or the county fair I may agree with you.

In this case she is demonstrating and getting arrested at these rallies and political functions. There is still the message.

You dont think the message is "look at me look at me, I like it when people look at me"

This isn't about her arrest anymore this is about her NOT showing up for court. That sends a message of "I want to be in the news again" if it were about a message it would have been at another rally would it not?

I think everyone else is forgetting she already claimed she was standing down from her protesting and her "position". She claims she's done with it all and hates America or something. She has no reason to turn herself into a criminal anymore. I'll check DailyKos for an update...
