Newt vs. Paul

So I keep hearing things about Newt Gingrich possibly joining the race for 08. I really know little about Newt or RP for that matter but I like many of their talking points. (I know those don't really mean much)

Newt also has a lot of baggage with him for reasons I don't know why, probably because I didn't give a shit about politics when ever he had whatever problems he had.

But like I said I agree with many of their talking points. Anyone else?

He said on Fox last night that he has no real money of his own so he needs grass roots fundraising to compete. He said if that happened he would consider the race. He wants Republicans to get back to principles and stop being Democrat lite on budget and size of government issues. I could not agree more!

I've seen him a few times on Fox, and when asked about why he thinks the GOP has a good shot at losing in '08, he lists a bunch of reasons but never TOCUHES Iraq.

Yes, America prefers Democrats over the GOP because of the illegal immigration issue.

As for Newt and Paul, they are basically polar opposites when it comes to foreign policy.

NEWT Says NO!

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will not run for president in 2008 after determining he could not legally explore a bid and remain as head of his tax-exempt political organization, a spokesman said Saturday.

"Newt is not running," spokesman Rick Tyler said. "It is legally impermissible for him to continue on as chairman of American Solutions (for Winning the Future) and to explore a campaign for president."
Gingrich decided "to continue on raising the challenges America faces and finding solutions to those challenges" as the group's chairman, Tyler said, "rather than pursuing the presidency."

I still hope he helps to shape the GOP 2008 Campaign and urges Republicans to return to principles rather than populist spending and government intervention on everything under the sun!
