| I don't believe that the battlefield did this to him. I tihnk he was already a sick, sadistic SOB before he got there. I would love to believe that it wasn't a consequence of his upbringing, however I highly doubt that is the case. | ||||

| I think everyone agrees that the VAST majority of our troops are good, patriotic, brave people, but the few that are not is hurting us in our primary objective of stabilizing Iraq. You think this bit of news is big with the far left wingers? Imagine how it is in the ME and Iraq! Not even talking about the regular propaganda news they get, this is headline news and will be long after we forget about it. This stuff prevents us from winning "hearts and minds" and if we can't do that, and we are looked at as the enemy no matter how many of our brave soldiers die, then what is the point of being there?

| Fighting in Iraq kills 60 militants October 1, 2007 BY STEVEN R. HURST ASSOCIATED PRESS BAGHDAD, Iraq -- U.S. and Iraqi forces killed more than 60 militants in intense fighting over the weekend, with most of the casualties believed to have been Al Qaeda fighters, officials said Sunday. The U.S. Embassy, meanwhile, joined a broad swath of Iraqi politicians -- both Shi'ite and Sunni -- in criticizing a nonbinding U.S. Senate resolution seen as splitting the country along sectarian and ethnic lines. U.S. aircraft killed more than 20 Al Qaeda in Iraq fighters who opened fire on a U.S. air patrol northwest of Baghdad, the U.S. command said. In a separate operation, U.S. forces killed two insurgents and detained 21 others during weekend operations. The Senate resolution, adopted last week, proposed reshaping Iraq according to three sectarian or ethnic territories. It calls for a limited central government with the bulk of power going to the country's Shi'ite, Sunni or Kurdish regions, envisioning a power-sharing agreement similar to the one that ended the 1990s war in Bosnia. Sen. Joe Biden, a Democratic presidential candidate from Delaware, was a prime sponsor. "Our goal in Iraq remains the same: a united, democratic, federal Iraq that can govern, defend and sustain itself," the unsigned statement from the U.S. Embassy on Sunday said. The statement came just hours after representatives of Iraq's major political parties denounced the Senate proposal. The U.S. military also announced the death of a U.S. soldier killed Saturday in a roadside bombing and gunfire attack in eastern Baghdad. Fighting in Iraq kills 60 militants __________________________________________________ ______________ We can talk about these killings and political solutions than seem to be a selling point to the wrong group of people. Those that would be forced to live by them appear to have strong objections......

And if the story happened as described, I'm sure those who are guilty will be punished accordingly. | ||||
