In other words, the phony soldiers are the ones who are against the war in Iraq. Rush agrees with his statement by saying that they (real soldiers) joined to be in Iraq.

Saying he was using it as a lead doesn't change much of anything in my mind, especially given the fact that he's attacked the service of other military folks in the past simply because of their political opinions.

That is not a reasonable interpretation at all. You want to redefine what the "caller" said and put those words in the mouth of Rush.

This is a phone conversation. This person is a guest trying to say what "he" feels about the issue. I guess next time Rush needs to jump all over this caller and repremand him for suggesting phony soldiers when Rush was only talking about one "soldier" in his monologue? The one about the ABC program and the phony "Soldiers" in plural? And that such people have been in fact supported by the anti-war movement?

And then to dare agree that soldiers are proud to serve in Iraq?

That's what I don't understand. If the quote means what they claim it does why take it out of the context of the show? The fact that they won't play the quote in the context of the show means they're spinning. It seems fairly obvious.

You're assuming people are going to take a minute to think about how it's being used...most won't. Most will hear "Rush called soldiers who don't want to be in iraq 'phony'!" and then it's fact in their minds. This is why whoever wrote Wag the Dog was an underrated genius .......

He says he asked ClearChannel Media to "confer" with Rush. His letter clearly states he wanted them to "publicly repudiate" him. Instead, they gave Rush the letter and the letter then raised a couple million dollars off the abuse of power.

Reid almost tries to take credit for it. It's hilarious that he would even further address the issue.
