Myelectionchoices.com

This is kind of a cool poll to see which candidate you agree most with. Instead of asking you about which issues you support, it gives you a list of quotes and asks you which ones you agree with.

MyElectionChoices.com - Political Web Site for 2008 Presidential Election

It has a ton of categories and as you finish them it updates who you are most in sync with. It also lets you save midway through so you can come back at a later date and finish it.

Here are my results:

Top Dems
Obama 42
Richardson 40
Clinton 39

Top Republicans
Huckabee 23
McCain 23
Ron Paul 17

Romney - 6
Chief 9/11 - 5
Obama - 5

I didn't choose all the categories, as some of those don't really concern me for this election.

I'm surprised to see Kucinich at #2 for me (granted a distant #2). I see him as a pretty big liberal. Looking at the breakdown of what I agreed with him on, it was 3 about the drug war, 5 more about anti-war stuff, and 1 curve ball statement in there about healthcare where he says healthcare should be about the doctors and the customers. I thought he was a universal healthcare proponent, but the quote made me think he was talking about getting gov't out of it, hence allowing people and doctors to come to agreements without the need necessarily for insurance.

Cool little site.

Great find, very interesting and informative!

I only answered four topics. I'll go through again later and answer them all. I think it's very revealing. I'm surprised at the results so far, though. It's like polling your own mind!!!

Here's my first take, based on my top four issues:

Paul - 11
Kucinich - 10
Gravel - 9
Richardson - 8
Biden - 7
Dodd - 5
Obama - 5
Brownback - 4
Clinton - 4
Edwards - 3
Everyone else - 1

And here's my second take, after answering about all issues:

Kucinich - 43
Richardson - 39
Dodd - 37
Gravel - 36
Clinton - 35
Obama - 32
Biden - 29
Edwards - 27
Paul - 27
McCain - 17
Huckabee - 16
Brownback - 14
Romney - 14
Hunter - 12
Giuliani - 11
Tancreo - 9
Thompson - 9

Personally, my top 3 choices would be Gravel, Kucinich, and Paul. The first take pretty accurately reflects my views on the issues most important to me, but I find the results of both takes very interesting. I hope more people on the forum will take the quiz and post their results!
