My son made his first touchdown yesterday!

I still get that feeling of excitment this time of year when the weather starts changing even after all those many many years ago when I played, but I did not start organized football until the seventh grade. When I watch a game today it is still like I am on the field playing even when I watch a game on TV that has a team playing that is one of my chosen teams and to see one live when my sons played I was crazy. They could hear me yell on the field.

I'm the same way. When I am into a game my body actually stiffens and moves during some plays. Like it wants to be out there.

I didn't start until my Freshman year. My 8th grade gym teacher was the coach and he called me during summer vacation to ask why I hadn't signed up. My parents sucked when it came to that kind of stuff. So I rode to school on my bike every day to practice and loved it. My whole Freshman year was a blur. I had no idea what to do and when. The other kids that had played before were so far ahead of me. It wasn't until half way through Sophomore year that I started to feel comfortable. As a JR I was starting Varsity as Linebacker. But I got hit and tore my ACL. As far as I know they didn't have the surgery back then, at least it was never offered, to repair it. I tried to work out to strengthen my legs but it wouldn't be long and I would cut and my knee would buckle. I finally quit cause I was so tired of being on crutches every 3 weeks.

My knee would go on me through adulthood and I finally got it fixed about 10 years ago.

I saw mouthpieces at the local Dick's store the other day, damn they have came a long way since the POS I had playing football

I was so proud. He ran the whole length of the field. The black girl behind him almost caught up to him. She was the best player on both teams. I have the whole series of pics but this one is the best.

So after the game my wife comes home and he says "Mom! I got a home run today!"
