My son made his first touchdown yesterday!

Check out the picture I was able to take while screaming like a mad man.

I was so proud. He ran the whole length of the field. The black girl behind him almost caught up to him. She was the best player on both teams. I have the whole series of pics but this one is the best.

So after the game my wife comes home and he says "Mom! I got a home run today!"

I can't wait until mine can start organized sports.

They don't start football until 5, but he can do soccer with me at 3. That's going to be hilarious.

He's 8. This is his 2nd season of flag football but I almost can't count the first because it was with another group and it was soooo unorganized and poorly run that Zack didn't learn a thing. This Upward program he is with now is amazing.

Yeah, they have girl players and also have cheerleaders!

My youngest did soccer when he was 4. It was great!

I don't even think they offer it here until 10. I'd much rather Zack learn the basics playing flag than tackle.

Yeah, it was weird. Right in the middle of the game the kid starts singing Al Jolson songs and tap dancing. I've never seen anything like it.

WAYYYY back in 1979 I did in fact put a piece of curved plastic in boiling water and put it in my mouth to custom fit it to my teeth.

If you could have seen Zack's face when I took the mouth piece out of the boiling water and told him to stick it in his mouth and suck it was priceless

Yes I used mouthguards too when I was younger. They were required along with a cup for all my fights and martial arts when I started in 1988. Still use them today.
